Customer Review: Great Junk Mail Killer

It's been a couple of weeks since we got our paper shredder and we're loving it. Simply feed that junk mail into its hungry maw, and it's quickly shredded. The lock and operation switches are large and easy to use.
The only thing I wish it had was a manual forward switch. You can manually back up the shredder, but you cannot manually move things forward through the blades. This is typically moot anyway as the shredder automatically runs a few seconds past the exit of the bulk of whatever you put into it to clear its blades. I've yet to have the shredder quit before whatever I put in was completely through the blades.
As far as capacity goes, I've put unopened credit card offers, complete with annoying fake credit card, through the machine without trouble, so it's plenty for typical home use. You'll want to feed things through it one at a time, but it's still a quick process.
The description says that the shredder produces confetti, but the result is really somewhere between confetti and paper shreds. The shredfetti is sufficiently small that I feel safe tossing it, but for anyone that absolutely has to have tiny confetti, this shredder won't deliver that.
Emptying the basket is no problem, but requires lifting the shredder motor portion off of the basket. Not a big deal, but I suppose it could be heavy for someone that is frail or small.
As for noise, it's a shredder. It's fairly loud. If your cat is standing next to it when you start it up, she'll definitely run away. I'm not sure anyone out there needs to do his/her shredding silently, but if you do need that, this won't deliver. I will say this shredder is much quieter than one I had years ago.
Regarding size, the shredder is about the typical size for an office/bedroom wastebasket. We leave ours plugged in in a corner by the dining room table where we sort mail and never even notice it.
