I've owned this shredder for a couple months and am almost filling up my first full bin, but so far this has been a great shredder. Was purchased mainly for light occasional use, maybe on a weekly basis or so. Does great shredding documents and I've actually run several bank cards through it.
It's everything I was after and seems like a solid, well-built machine. I'll be purchasing some machine oil for it soon to hopefully avoid burning it up, but if well-maintained I see this thing lasting forever.
Happy with the purchase. Will update if it ever has problems.

This is an awesome shredder! I just love it! I also got it for half-price (thanks, Amazon)! I've it for about a month now, and have had no problems at all with it (and I had a truckload of things to be shredded, since the Ativa I bought about nine months earlier went kaput!). It has a neat feature where you can tilt the shredder head back and see how full the basket is! It shreds paper clips and credit cards easily. If you have small children, it has a sensory protector that stops the shredding process if anything touches the area around the input area. This is a better shredder than the two previous shredders I have owned. Since I have young children, I like the auto stop. If you touch the metal strip surrounding the mouth of the shredder it stops until you remove your hand. This shredder is quieter than previous shredders I have owned.
The first shredder, the fellows strip stredder cheapest one I could find, lasted for years till the teeth were becoming dull but motor was fine. The second shredder, non-fellows, lasted less than a year and burned up.
I am happy with this Fellows shredder and expect it to last.

I already owned a shredder that was wimpy and produced long strips that could easily be put together. After doing research and looking for something that would cross cut and be durable enough to handle old debit and credit cards, I finally got more than I had hoped for. This was a great buy and I am very pleased. As others have stated, it may not perform its best with 8 sheets at a time, but I think for how well it does perform, it is not an inconvenience to just shred a few pages at a time.
Considering the low price here at Amazon and the quality, I am very pleased.

This shredder definitely outperformed my expectations. I have had it for about a month now and use it on all the junk mail I receive (and other miscellaneous paper), so the shredder gets used every other day or so to shred anywhere from 5 - 30 sheets of paper. A lot of the time I don't even bother taking the mail out of the envelope (unless the packet is a ridiculous thickness) . . . it might slow the shredder down a little, but doesn't jam it. It's a much better product than I have found for a comparable price. I highly recommend it for light to medium personal use.
