I read some people who bought this machine who wasn't too happy. However I think this machine is quality built and will last if used on a regular basis, meaning giving it some break when the machine is put under heavy use. My son-2 years old likes to shred with it and thank God there is a safety feature. I leave it turned off when not in use just in case he decides to shred with it unattended. So far we have shred papers, envelopes, and thick heavy duty papers and it did not give us any problems. Getting it to sit correctly on the bin is a bit cumbersome but no big deal. For the price I paid for here at Amazon, It's a great buy. You will not be dissapointed.Customer Review: Good Shredder

What can I say, it's a shredder. A bit noisy, so I try to shred when no one's around or I'll close my door. I don't think the SafeSense is necessary... Then again, human stupidity never fails to surprise me so I can understand why they implemented it.
Purchase was based on the high amount of positive reviews. Over the past 4 months, I've had it stall a couple times when I fed it 8 sheets of paper at a time. Since then, I've kinda babied it with a few sheets at a time. This is a "light duty" shredder, so it was perfect for me as I have gone almost paperless.

This is my very first paper shredder and for the price ($44.99) it's a terrific deal. It shreds cross-cut to produce grade 2 security confetti, a level of security which exceeds my needs. Machine stops when fingers touch the feeder--an awesome safety feature. The `reverse' function un-jams stuff beautifully. I welcome the noise since it gives me good feedback on the operation of the machine, which I oil regularly as recommended to keep it in great shape. This excellent machine did shred a thick 8 sheets of paper as claimed by the manufacturer (albeit with effort), so I give it a full 5-star.

I bought this shredder after reading the good reviews it received on Amazon.com. Having used it now for over a month, I'm adding my own review. My advice? Buy it. It's worth it. It's that simple. I use it sparingly in a home office and I can't be more pleased. Having tried out a cheaper shredder from Sam's club and having to return it because it jammed and was finicky about how the document to be shredded was positioned, I'm happy with this one. It does what I expect it to with no fuss. The safe sensor is a nice plus if you have a curious toddler at home like I do. I have no complaints about it.Customer Review: Outstanding shredder!

This is my 3rd shredder (for home use). My first two were the cheapest models, and did not last longer than a year. For a bit more money, this unit is far more powerful and has great features. It shreds about 8 sheets at once, shreds credit cards, has a safety feature that shuts it off if your fingers get too close to the feed slot, and it is twice as large as the cheap models (less dumping out). I have a feeling this one will give more than a year's service, simply because it does not strain as the others did. I have had it for two months now and am very happy with it. Highly recommend.
