Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Fellowes 98915 Antimicrobial Split Design Keyboard (Black)Customer Review: Nice Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
This keyboard is exactly what my wrists needed. It's easy to type on and I did not need any time to get used to the different style of keyboard. The shortcut keys work great, too.
Customer Review: Great keyboard and kills my crumb dropping better than plain plastic Summary: 5 Stars
Every bit the keyboard as my old Microsoft. The media/net buttons at the top aren't quite as easy to hit as those on the MS keyboard but they aren't annoying in any way.
Customer Review: Great Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I love this keyboard! It sounds and feel great and there are no problems with the hardware. If this one ever needs to be replaced I will definitely buy it again!
Customer Review: I love this keyboard ... one of the best I have owned. Summary: 4 Stars
I first started using this type of keyboard in 1998 and it took awhile getting used to... but once I did, I have not been able to go back to a plain straight keyboard. I recently started a job where I am telecommuting out of my home and I needed to purchase my own computer system that would be dedicated to work. I bought an Asus desktop system which came with a mouse and a keyboard -- but the keyboard was just a bare bones basic keyboard. I knew I was going to need to get a ergonomic configuration keyboard.
I had used a similar Microsoft version which was good. But I found this keyboard was quite a bit less expensive which was important to me at this point. The reviews were good so I took a chance.
The construction of the keyboard feels very solid -- which is important to me since I tend to be pretty "aggressive" in my typing. Installation was a piece of cake. It will work straight out of the box. However, if you want to take advantage of the "smart buttons", then you will need the disk that is provided with the keyboard.
The only thing I am not wild about is that the keys feel a little "spongey" compared to what I'm used to -- I tend to prefer a crisper "clickier" keyboard. But I know that this keyboard is going to last and I have quickly gotten used to it. For the money it is the best ergonomic keyboard available.
Customer Review: Good keyboard, I'm going to keep using it Summary: 4 Stars
I've been on the eternal search for a good keyboard for, well... eternity.
Haven't met that 5-star keyboard as of yet. However, I'm going to hold onto this one for now.
Most natural keyboards have problems with sticky spacebars. This one is acceptable to me. the keys are decent, perhaps a bit sticky in general, but i am hoping to break them in. The Microsoft 4000 was much worse. The problem with this keyboard is obviously the arrow keys and the 6-way. While the design allows for a smaller overall footprint, they are simply bad. At first I was thinking of just using the numeric keypad for those keys, but that would require turning the Numlock on and off constantly (for what i do). since I use those keys a lot I simply purchased a separate USB numeric keypad. The numeric pad doesn't have the insert key, but I never use that one, so no biggie. remapped the 5 to a down arrow, and there you go, completely insane solution, but it works for me.
Anyways, i deducted a star because of the lousy 6-way, and arrow keys (the Logitech Wave removed the insert key altogether, one of the good things about that guy), and the fact that the tabs are in the back. I thought everybody knew by now that they should be in the front. eh, what can you do.
