Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Fanatic Digital Gold-Plated HDMI Cable with ferrite cores (2 meters/6 feet)

Customer Review: Buy this cable now! It works as good as the $100+ Monster cables.
Summary: 5 Stars

I couldn't believe it! I hesitated for a long time to buy any HDMI cables that would cost less than $50 per my belief that quality was measured by its price. Was I so wrong. I already own a "Monster 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable 6 ft" which I have attached on my Samsung Blu-Ray player to my HDTV. A week ago I purchased the HP 23" HD LCD Monitor model# w2338h which has an HDMI input for my PC. I also purchased Sony's newest 6.6' 1080p HDMI cable at $40 to attach my new monitor. The picture was simply awesome. Upon reviewing the many reviews here at amazon.com about a "HDMI Cable-2 Meter (6.6 ft) Gold Plated v1.3 HDMI to HDMI Cable with Ferrite Cores" for $7.99, I decided to buy it and give it a try. I figured that if it did not work as good as my Sony cable, it would just be $8 lost. A week later I got this cable and I immediately unplugged the Sony HDMI cable and plugged the $8 HDMI in its place. To my amazement I was shocked in disbelief that such a cheap cable could deliver the same high quality picture to my PC. Yet, I was determined to find a flaw. So I went through the trouble of unplugging my $130 Monster cable from my home theater system and compare it. I found that the $130 Monster cable looked just as good as the $40 Sony cable and as just as good as my newest $8 cable. Interference on any of my 3 cables is non-existent. I am now a believer. Going forward, I will now buy this $8 HDMI cable for all my HD connections.

Customer Review: Perfect cable for the PS3 & a HD LCD TV
Summary: 5 Stars

We recently purchased a PS3 and wanted to hook it up via HDMI. As I searched for a cable, I came across ones that ranged from $5 to nearly $100. I was quite baffled at the difference and read many reviews for each product. The conclusion I came away with was that a high dollar cable was simply not needed. This seems to be a common ploy with many of the component and HDMI cables nowadays and is simply ridiculous.

We ordered the cable, received it 2 days later via Amazon Prime, and hooked up our new PS3 without any issues or problems with the display, etc. I am very happy that I did not spend over ten bucks and am thankful to all the other reviewers who helped me realize this cable was all that I needed.

UPDATE: I did some additional & extensive research online, including information provided by experts and cable providers in the field (e.g. Blue Jeans Cable) and my assessment above is accurate in regards to cables less than 15 feet in length. The only time you need a higher quality cable is when it will meet or exceed that limit, otherwise the signal will start degrading. The same principles apply to many other types of cable. The degradation can include lines, snow, blurry images, etc.

Customer Review: It came fast, works great, and easy to set up.
Summary: 5 Stars

I needed a new AV cord for my Xbox 360 because the 360 came with a horrible quality composite AV cable (Yellow, White, Red). So I bought this HDMI cable here on amazon. It came fast in the mail (Only a couple of days). It was very simple to set up and Fanatic Digital sends you a lifetime warranty if it breaks down. Besides the simplicity of this product and great customer service, the picture quality is quite good for a $5 HDMI cable. I would have to say the HDMI cable is slightly better than component HD quality, but you can barley tell. So if you were pondering over whether to get component HD or HDMI, I would for sure go with HDMI because of the simple set up and slightly better performance. For gaming consoles like the PS3 and 360, it produces great graphics on a 1080p or i television and makes gaming less glitchy and choppy compared to other HD cables. I have no complaints for this cable and I think it was one of the best electronic buys I have ever made. In short, if I made no sense in this review, this thing delivers great picture and sound quality from HDMI ready electronics to HD TV's. DON'T SPEND MORE THAN THIS AT A LOCAL ELECTRONICS STORE! This is just as good (maybe even better!) and is a lot cheaper!

Customer Review: Works perfect between my Sony PS3 and Bravia
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered two of these cables just a couple of weeks ago and paid $6.49 each. The price has since dropped to only $3.38 as of today (wow!), but even at $6.49 these are a spectacular bargain. I'm just not sure what spending more on a Monster Cable, or Belkin, or Sony branded, or any of the other expensive cables would achieve.

The cable is high-quality with well formed contacts, gold plating and ferrite cores. While the ferrite cores may not be needed, I chose this cable specifically due to the cores because I have seen issues in the past -- with VGA cables -- be resolved as a result of their presence.

I connected one cable between my Sony PS3 and Sony Bravia and I have had zero issues even at full 1080p. I tested the other cable in the same fashion just to make sure; no problems. Both are excellent cables resulting in a superb picture! I cannot ask for more. I'm even tempted to buy extras since they now cost nearly 50% less than just two weeks ago, but my Bravia has only two HDMI inputs and I've already purchased two cables.

Don't pass this one up.

Customer Review: Exactly what you're hoping for
Summary: 5 Stars

It's a really solid HDMI cable that allows video and audio connections from my upscaling (1080p) DVD player to my TV. I've used another one to connect my HD cable box. I'm not sure about gaming consoles, etc, but there's no reason why this shouldn't work. However, if you'd like to connect a computer to your TV, you probably need a DVI cable instead.
As far as quality, the cable is heavy duty, and they make a big deal of their ferrite core. Fine, the signal is digital, so it's just as good as a $100 cable - unlike analog signals, 0s and 1s don't change. Don't be upsold! (By the way, the same logic applies to fiber optic connections for digital optical outputs.) You just need a cable that works and this one does.
I thought about the even cheaper cable but there were a few negative reviews that suggested the cheaper cable wasn't up to certain tasks. It didn't make sense to me, but this cable was sufficiently cheap that I decided not to risk it...
