I just got the FC Twin this Friday 1.11.2008 from a local store for $50 and so far so good. The system is a little flimsy feeling, especially the controllers...but I have SNES controllers that I am using instead. The system seems a little sensitive to any little bit of dirt that is on the games, so be sure to clean clean clean 'em before you try to play 'em. I used Windex and q-tips to clean the contacts which seemed to work really well. Before I purchased the FC Twin I was researching and found some info on Wikipedia regarding game compatibility. Wiki stated that the system won't play a few games....well, I found that it WILL play Super Mario RPG Seven Stars for SNES, however I can't get it to play Paperboy for the NES. I'm thinking about getting another Paperboy cart to see if it will work....I really liked that game and Wiki states that some versions of a game won't play while others will.
I see that some people had problems with the system a few weeks after purchase, so I plan to play the heck outta the system in the next few weeks to try it out...also, I kept my receipt and made sure the store had a decent return policy just incase.
Anyway, I would recommend this system to anyone that want's to play some of the old great classic NES and SNES games...but I wouldn't get rid of my real NES or SNES! I think this system is, so far, worth the $50 I paid.

I really wanted to play old school nintendo games, but was worried about paying for a 20 year old used unit. how long would it last? How much would it cost to repair if it could be fixed? So I opted for the FC twin because I wanted a new system. But it was also a great bonus that it plays both the regular nintendo as well as the super nintendo games... for the price of 1 game unit. So far everything is working great and I'm very pleased. The only downside is that the "duck hunt" gun doesn't fit in the controller slot for this game console- I have yet to find any type of converter piece for it or a gun that was made to fit this unit. After a night with friends at a local pub that offers board games and original NES and Sega systems along with their unique brews, I was feeling the need to play Super Mario Brothers again. After looking on eBay at the ridiculous prices for faded, used consoles I decided to give this twin console a try. It has been wonderful! I haven't tried NES games on it yet, I've just been building my collection of SNES back up - but the SNES games play perfectly. The controllers are even SNES controllers and have the same feel.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking to play those old NES/SNES games again.

This item is very cool. So far it works perfectly, except one of the controllers A button is messed up after only a few days use. It now acts as if it were a turbo button, even when playing SNES games. I remember reading somewhere that the controllers are not the greatest, so I am not upset. I cleaned up my old SNES controller and will be using that from now on.
From what I understand, these systems are hit or miss, so don't be pissed if something goes wrong. Some people's have broken in a few weeks, other have had their's for over a year now with no problems. So I guess, buyer beware.
