Like another reviewer, I play guitar in a rock band and I am therefore exposed to loud music on a pretty regular basis. Because I also double on the trumpet, I have always avoided using traditional ear plugs; I always felt like my head was about to explode when I went for those high notes! With these, though, I don't get that 'congested' feeling.
I can still hear all of the other musicians and the dynamics of the music... everything is just quieter. Plus, I don't feel like my head is a ticking time-bomb!

These little earplugs are really comfortable to wear. There is no adjustments though so if you have small ears buy the smaller blue version. Otherwise the material is soft and should easily fit a wide range of ears. They sound really good although they almost attenuate too much sound at concerts if you're just looking for a slight reduction in sound. Sound is definitely much clearer though than cheap foam ear plugs. Also the clear plugs are very inconspicuous.Customer Review: Great for going out to clubs

I really love these ear plugs. I've never enjoyed going to clubs and loud bars because it literally hurts when the noise level is so high. With these ear plugs I can go out for the night and not have any discomfort or headache during and after. Loud music is still somewhat loud with the ear plugs, but it is tolerable for me now, and I can still hear well enough to talk to other people with them in.Customer Review: Etymotics are great for motorcycling

I use these exclusively for motorcycling. They fit comfortably in the ear for long rides, and are much easier to insert/remove than foam disposables.
The moderate attenuation level filters the wind and other loud noises such as vehicle tire roar, but still allows me to hear horns, sirens, and other things happening around me. My rides are much less tiring with these earplugs.

The ER20 is a great earplug for those working in a mildly loud environment. I use it for band practice and I can hear my bass, 2 guitars, and drummer clearly without my ears ringing afterwards as they have done in the past. It is not for those looking to work construction or be around stadium amplified music. For scenarios like mine, it is a great buy for the price. high value.
