Customer Review: Buy 3 pair and give them to your friends
Summary: 5 Stars

These little plugs are great. I'm in a band and go to a lot of live shows, and the regular foam plugs just didn't cut it any more. The advantage of these plugs is that the sound response is flat; you still hear the full range of frequencies, only, it's just quieter. You can totally have a conversation with someone in the middle of a crowded dance floor.

I love these so much, I actually bought a few more and gave them to my bandmates and girlfriend. They come with a cord in case you have a problem with losing them.

A note: make sure they're inserted correctly (ALL the way in) -- you'll definitely know. Also, the first few times you wear them it feels like an octopus is attacking your brain. You'll get used to that. Finally, it helps if you lubricate them on the way in with a bit of spit.

Customer Review: Work as advertised. Take the edge off.
Summary: 5 Stars

With these, the stoner rock band playing in a small club didn't leave my ears ringing. I could still tell that I was at loud show and had to avoid standing in front of the speakers, but I didn't feel pain or get an impression of damage. If there's an uneven frequency cut it isn't noticeable at show-level volume. I'd like more attenuation, and I'll probably go back to standard ear plugs for loud shows. For band rehearsals and mellower shows I'll use these. Lower-volume speech (say, un-amplified between-song banter) is too quiet and requires removal of these things, same as any earplugs. Amazingly comfortable once you get the hang of inserting them correctly. I had a tendency to stick the plug too far into my ear, which was painful. I'll definitely use these again, dorkiness be darned. They look dorky.

Customer Review: Gets the Job Done
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these as a replacement for similar earplugs from a different company that I lost. The protection is indistinguishable. They are comfortable and do a great job at taking concert-level volumes down to a degree where your ears won't be ringing after the show. They remove a lot of high end fizz (think drum cymbals) but still allow enough of each frequency in so that the mix sounds good.

I sometimes leave them halfway out of my ears because they cut out too much sound. I wish they made a lightweight version, so I could adjust my earplugs for the volume of the venue. Having the earplugs half-engaged in the ear canal runs the risk of them getting knocked out of your ears, but it is often the best way to listen to the music. Still, a great product, especially for the price.

Customer Review: Ear Drum Saver
Summary: 5 Stars

I go to a few shows a month, and the music ranges from Slayer to Wu-Tang to Air. After a particularly brutal Danzig show left my ears ringing for a month, I decided to invest in these earplugs. They are simply incredible. You can still hear the music quite clearly, but at a more manageable volume. The sound is ever so slightly muffled, but much much better than the old school foam plugs, and much better than going deaf.

Several companies make similar plugs, and I would go for the ones that come in the clear rubber trapezoidal case (this case fits in the pocket better than the round canister container. Also, the plugs can get wedged in the round canister container.)

Buy these plugs for 12$ or so, and save your hearing. It's well worth it.

Customer Review: I thought they were not working, until I took them out
Summary: 5 Stars

I've always been sensitive to loud noises, and progressively enjoyed
loud live music less and less as time went on. Eventually I got to
the point I put tissue in my ears (I can deal with looking uncool),
and even sometimes foam earplugs, but they destroy the experience.

I bought these and the first time I wore them I thought they weren't
doing much. Then I took them out and realized they were doing plenty,
it's just the music didn't sound like it was muffled.

I recommend them to anyone, particularly if you care about losing your
hearing or if you're particularly sensitive. I get really annoyed if
I go to something loud and have forgotten them.
