I own several types of ear plugs for when I am playing mucic.
The yellow foam, a $$$ pair my doctor molded for me, and these.
I think these are the best that I have used, and I have been using plugs for 15 years. They let in a little bit more or the high frequency range than my other plugs, so when I'm playing everything sounds balanced, not muffled. That is great. They cancel between 12 to 22 db depending on how well you put them in.
I will say that with these you really need to stick them way, and I do mean way, down into your ears. I didn't know I could put things in my ear that far actually. Basically you need to have the last ring seated against the opening of your ear canal to get the most out of these. When they are in that far they can be a little uncomfortable, but nothing is perfect, and it sure is better than tinnitus.
You might get two pair, because if you are like me you are bound to loose one of the plugs.
Also helps to wipe a little moisture on the outside of them before you put them in. Makes them go in a lot more easily.

My wife and I love to go to club concerts. Before we got these earplugs, we'd stand near the back of the room because it is so loud, and our ears would still ring until the next day. Not anymore. We recently attended two raging loud concerts at the House of Blues, but this time we felt comfortable going close to the front. At first I was not sure what to expect - I thought that maybe the experience would be watered down and muffled, as with traditional earplugs. But actually the sound was excellent! These earplugs let through just enough of the high frequencies and after a couple songs, I forgot that I was wearing them! We didn't have to take them out to engage in conversation. After the concert using these, we didn't have any ringing in the ears at all. Sometimes my ears would itch because this is made from some kind of rubbery material, so that's the only downside, although it didn't happen too often and pushing the stem around a bit was all that was needed to scratch to relieve the itch. It comes with a little flexible case that is just big enough to hold both earplugs and makes it easy to slip into a jean pocket.Customer Review: Excellent product - works exactly as advertised!!

I've always worried about the damage live concerts could be inflicting on my long term hearing, but I never did anything about it until recently. These are simply the best thing for a live concert!! They work completely as advertised.
I discreetly put the earplugs in once I entered the concert arena. A slight upward tug on the top of the ear and easy insertion into the hearing canal.
Since I purchased the clear ones, no one could even tell I had them in (even after asking them if they could see them!).
The sound was clear and excellent, just a bit quieter than normal. When I left the concert, I did not have the usual issues with temporary reduction in hearing ability. I was completely normal.
Best product I've ever purchased for such a small amount of money. Honestly, this is my first product review on Amazon even though I've been purchasing items for years!

I purchased these for a very loud concert I was attending. The earplugs worked perfectly -- the music sounded great, I could hear myself enough to know I wasn't singing out of tune, could hear what people said if they were near me, and at the end of the evening, when I took the plugs out, my ears were not buzzing at all. It takes a little getting used to after you first put them in, but I thought they worked perfectly for filtering out the excess sounds and enabling me to just hear the music, and quite clearly, too.
On a side note, I later saw footage of the concert I went to, and I was stunned that I had not really heard the noise the crowd around me was making (the cheers, group singing, etc.). I am not sure how these plugs work, but they are really effective for letting just the stage sounds through.
Well worth the cost for an awesome concert experience.

These earplugs are wonderful. They are soft and comfortable. Because of the stem, they are easy to insert and remove. Although you're not supposed to immerse them, they are easy to wash with a rag and a little soap and water. They come with a carrier, and are easy to put on your keys, but do not trust the tiny chain, which breaks very easily.
I attend a lot of band practices and use one in a single ear as a means to hear myself sing, or in both ears when the amps and drum kit get too loud. Also great for loud work environments!
Once when attending an Oktoberfest celebration with friends the band got loud and I inserted my earplugs. My friends sat the table saying "What? Huh?" to every word said, but I could hear them all, because the earplugs diminished the background noise. I keep a pair on each keychain and am constantly buying sets for friends.
