Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Grundig S350 Deluxe AM/FM/Shortwave Radio, BlackCustomer Review: hot hot radio Summary: 5 Stars
this radio is hot, hot, hot. i am 75 years old live in the country(northeast pennsylvania) have an electronics degree and have been listening to radio longer than i care to remember.I compared this radio to the following radios that i own and use. GRUNDIG G4000A, SANGEAN ATS909,SONY SW7000,AND GRUNDIG SATELLIT 800 MILLENIUM. as you can see these are all top rated radios. all described as portables even the SATELLIT 800.tests were all done with only the built in antennas and telescopic antennas and the results that this radio beat them all except the SATELLIT 800. i noticed no drifting as read in some of the reviews for if you read the instructions it tells you to wait until the khz symbol stops flashing to show that the frequency is locked. i like the good old fashioned dial knob tuning. a great radio true to the grundig tradition. recommend highly
Customer Review: Grundig S350 AM/ FM Shortwave radio Summary: 5 Stars
Great radio! I purchased it to replace my favorite old 1976 Grundig Ocean Boy which I dropped and broke. It's well built, with limited mono sound quality through its 3" speaker, but with bass and treble controls. Full range stereo through headphones. Extremely sensitive and pulls in virtually all stations static free. I haven't tried much shortwave, since my principal use is as a portable radio. It has alarm clock features, sensitivity control, and other features way beyond the typical portable radio. It's not a boombox, but the volume can be turned up reasonably loud with no distortion through its built in speaker and it will deafen you through headphones. With the line output jacks it can be used as a tuner for a stereo system.
Customer Review: Nice Radio Summary: 5 Stars
Much has been improved in the DL verison. The sleep timer can be turned off. Signal lock reduces drifting. After about 30 min. inside I get almost no drift at all. AM is powerful. I live in Peoria,IL and I get stations from New York, California, Florida, and Minnisota and they sound like they're comming from Peoria. The tunning dial on mine is not sloppy like other reviewers have mentioned. Short wave reception is very good and with an external long wire it is excellent. The drawbacks are No SSB, and the wall wart adapter adds quite a bit of noise on the SW bands. I have been very happy with this radio. It reminds me of the old Panasonic Rf-2200
Customer Review: Perfect Shortwave Starter Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I will make this short and sweet. I never owned a shortwave radio and wanted my wife to be able to listen to German radio broadcasts. The radio achieved this right out of the box. I will not be able to rate how this radio stacks up against the competition, but it has done exactly what I purchased it for. All I ask it that Amazon should send the pictured product. The picture indicated the newer S350, but received the older model, but I am still quite satisfied with my purchase. Oh, the local broadcasts in both AM & FM are much easier to pick up and clearer than any other radio in the house. For $99 go ahead and buy it!
Customer Review: Great radio for the money ! Summary: 5 Stars
I did considerable investigation into the radio prior to purchase. I wanted a "very good" radio without having to spend a lot of money. I like the size of the speaker, it projects a full natural sound. The quality of AM is what I had hoped for. I can receive all the stations in the west side of the state with only a need to rotate the radio to maximize the signal. With the analog tuning, I can quickly find the center frequency. Having the fine tuner adjust makes the process easy and with a feeling of quality. The controls all work as expected.
For the money, you can't go wrong with this radio.
