Customer Review: Awesome, Powerful, Quality Emergency Radio
Summary: 5 Stars

Just received this today from Amazon. This is a sweet little radio and the quality is great. I like the rubbery texture too it so it feels good when holding it and it won't slip out of your hands. I had great reception on the radio even after only cranking it for a minute or so. All stations in my area I got perfectly fine in AM and FM, Orlando, FL. The light worked great too, just enough to do whatever you need to do. Also the main reason I got this was to be able to charge my iPhone in an emergency, I plugged the iPhone cable into the USB slot, started cranking and viola the iPhone charged just fine. You have to continuously crank to charge it, which is fine, it's for an emergency and you should only need a minute or two for making a call. But it worked and that's all I wanted. I'll be carrying it around to try out different areas of the city too. Haven't tried the solar charger yet, but I will soon. BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Customer Review: Everyone on my Christmas list is getting one this year!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product two years ago and not a month goes by I don't use it. Living in South Florida, storms crop up all the time. A minute of cranking and setting it on the NOAA station, I am immediately informed as to what is going on and what to expect. The reception inside my house is wonderful. I use it as my main radio in the house. I use the strap to hang this radio/flashlight on my kitchen wall next to the light switch making it very handy, as we have frequent power outages.

Please remember also, that this was produced with the Red Cross and includes a $.49-$1 being contributed to the American Red Cross with each sale. There is also an "Eco Edition" model that a contribution is made to OhRanger.com, that supports our National Parks. For more information on these contributions, you can go to: [...]

Customer Review: Small, stylish, works well!
Summary: 5 Stars

Great functionality, flashlight is bright, sound and reception are good, handcrank comfortable, worked right out of the box. The handcrank folds down along the back, which is nice. The flashlight turns on using a handy button on the top. The red is slightly metallic so this looks a lot more stylish than I thought it would - bonus!

Rubber-covered inputs on the side are a headphone jack, a mini-usb port and a mysterious one with a picture of a cellphone. I realize you can send in a card to get a plug that fits your cellphone (though I doubt they can accomodate an iphone) and presumably that cable fits there, but there was also an unexplained short cable that came in the box that I could not tell you what it was for.

Customer Review: Prepared for Hurricanes and Power Outages!
Summary: 5 Stars

Highly recommend this item. It is small, but built well, and "feels" well. The crank is very solid, and works great. Easy to charge. This item is a must for home/car and boat. If you camp, you need this. When Hurricane Ike hit us head on last year, we had to rely on batteries... for our little radio. We where without power for over two weeks... batteries where unheard of when you went to the store, as all the shelves were empty as there was no transport. Consider this for even thunderstorm outages and snow outages. The light works great and the solar panel works even with just indirect lighting. The option to charge the cell phone is wonderful, however, we had no cell coverage during the outage of Hurricane Ike.

Customer Review: Good little radio
Summary: 5 Stars

I just got this radio and I am really happy with it. The only gripe I have is that the tuning knob is a little imprecise and takes some fine tuning; AM stations also seem a little staticky. However this is still a great radio and would be extremely helpful in an emergency. The light is pretty bright, and considering both the light and the radio are still available when the grid is down, it is pretty cool. I ordered the adapter tip for my cell phone; and will give it a try when it comes in. However, the manual states that fifteen minutes of cranking the radio may result in about 1 minute if cell-phone talk time, so this function will be useful only in the direst of emergencies. Still nice to have, though.
