I purchased this radar detector because I got a ticket for $166 dollars. I read reviews on all the major radar detectors. After the reviews I found that this radar detector rated higher than any other out there. Once it arrived at my home I used it for my daily commute back and forth to work, and I must say it works excellent, long before I even see a cop the escort warns you of the their presence therefor giving you plenty of time to slow down. Don't be a fool go out and get this radar detector.I know it's expensive and I know times are rough right now because of the economy and everything but believe me the Escort Passport 9500ix pays for it's self from the money you'll save from speeding tickets. Having owned several radar detectors since the 1980's including an original Cincinnati Microwave black box with a large amber light. We live in AZ which has numerous mobile and stationary speed traps, and red light cameras. This next generation detector exceeded my expectations in ease of set-up and accuracy. We took it on drive to Las Vegas and it provided plenty of warnings and very few false alerts. It also "stored" several locations around stores that no longer provide false alerts. It is great to drive in silence, only responding to real alerts. It was very easy to set up with the online updates and customizing of the screens and settings. I didn't expect to spend that much money for a radar but after researching the product online, it was worth every dollar. This product saved my butt on a few occasions, more than I expected. Between the Red-light camera features, although I don't ever go through red lights, and the advanced notice that a COP lies ahead, it's great. If traveling more than 60mph, it will notify you 2miles ahead of time...to be aware. Very easy to use and has the capability of updating the internal database online via usb connection. Also has the ability to aware you of a trap zone...GREAT PRODUCT and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great radar, to save your pockets on speeding tickets and ultimately losing your license...Customer Review: Best detector I've ever owned

The 9500ix is the perfect radar detector. It's quiet, has great sensitivity, and alerts to Red Light Cameras.
I have used, in order, the Passport 8500, Passport 8500 X50, Valentine One, Passport 8500 X50 Rev. 5, and now the 9500ix. The 9500ix beats them hands down.
Why? It has great range, seems to have a sixth sense for cop radar, alerts to Red Light Cameras (which are a major hassle in my area ... the fine is over $400 each including fees), and it's quiet!
If you use a chatterbox V1 that makes you think your head is about to explode, give the 9500ix a try. You will be amazed how well a detector can work while still being super quiet.

My friend showed me his new Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector and how it worked, but I told him the radar detectors I purchased in the past displayed so many false readings that is why I have not brought one until now. When I got a chance to try his new Escort Passport 9500ix in my truck. I must say it was the best investment I could have ever made, it works as described in the video I saw online.
