Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet)Customer Review: High-Tech cables... low low prices Summary: 5 Stars
Most of the internet reviews say it: you won't notice much of difference whether you pay $2.00 or $200.00 for your HDMI cable. I chose the cheaper option, then chose expedited shipping, and still ended up paying LESS for TWO cables than I would have for only ONE at any store (feel free to check for yourself)!
I used one cable to connect my HDTV to my HD Cable box, and one cable to connect my HDTV to my DVD-Upconverter. My girlfriend's girl friend kept on going on and on about the "quality" as we watched the "Lost" Season 4 Season Finale!
I blew my own mind a little bit watching bits of the Star Wars trilogy (2004 release). Safe to say: these cheap little cables do their job! Unless someone comes up with a very compelling reason for me to spend more money on HDMI cables in the future, I'd go with these again in the future.
Side Note: when you upgrade to the HD Cable box (like with Comcast - over your standard Digital), make sure to read the directions and CALL the Cable Company and get the new "box" activated. Don't assume it will work just because you already have an active account. A mistake that cost me at least a half hour, but that doesn't have anything to do with the cables.
Customer Review: good dependable HDMI cable Summary: 5 Stars
Have a 52 inch 650 Samsung HDTV. Bought an expensive HDMI cable to connect it to my Brighthouse Cable and got a great picture.
Hooked up my $2.45 cable and got the same picture.
The similar Monster Cable at Circuit was $130. The salesperson insisted that this was THE ONE that would give me the best picture. For $130 it had better do a lot more than that for me.
Did extensive research on HDMI cables and had gotten the conclusion that it worked or it didn't. The info is a 1 or a 0. There is no "it looks better". It works or it doesn't.
However, the more expensive cables tend to be more rugged. We have a cat that just LOVES to chew on cables and I don't really know if it is cat proof, but for the price it can be easily replaced.
It should also be noted that many of the "not so great video" that one receives is the fault of the cable company and not the HDMI cable. There is a great variation on the signal received.
With Blu Ray, the picture on my 52 inch Samsung is awesome EVERY time. But when it is just connected to my cable box the picture quality varies by the channel although they are all HD.
Customer Review: I Am Now Convinced Any Higher Prices Cable Is A Ripoff Summary: 5 Stars
Let's be serious: when you see a product this cheap (price-wise), you have to assume it's crap. You've been to Best Buy, you know that a "good quality" HDMI cable is at least 30 dollars. I was in the same boat. I bought a six-foot HDMI cable from Best Buy for 30 dollars for my new laptop to hook up to my 32" 720p HDTV. And then I saw this online, with amazing reviews. So I figured, "Why not?" and bought it.
Let's just say I returned the other cable.
There was no image quality difference between the two cables at all. Build quality was the exact same, no stripped wires or cheap materials. No gold-plated differences. It was the same cable. Same product, performance, durability, blah blah blah. Honestly, there is NO reason to not buy this cable. None. Not even the wait time. For the price of this cable plus fast delivery it's STILL less than buying in-store. Sure, you'll have to wait an extra day or two, but one would assume that you are buying this cable for something in the long-term, like a TV or gaming system or laptop or whatever.
Do yourself a favor and buy this. I promise you will never buy a cable from the Big Boys again.
Customer Review: A fool and his money... Summary: 5 Stars
...are soon parted. This arrived at my door for about $6 including shipping and handling. All the "1s" and "0s" are getting through. Thank you, digital technology.
Years ago, I wrote a review of a $100 Monster HDMI Cable, asking the question, "how long will companies like Monster be able to keep this new technology a secret?" Because with digital, you no longer have to wonder: "if, maybe, if I only spent a few more dollars on cable, could I be getting a little better picture?" With digital, the signal gets through. Or it doesn't. And with so many people subscribing to digital satellite or cable TV, even the average consumer is learning what their picture looks like when the "1s" and "0s" don't all get through. It breaks up, "pixellates," like when there is snow on your dish, or a heavy rain.
I love not having to wonder anymore. I understand the psychology of someone who has just spent THOUSANDS on their AV equipment, succumbing to the salesman who asks what seems such a reasonable question: "Do you REALLY want to run the signal from your $600 Blu-Ray player into your $3000 Plasma through a $5 cable???!!!"
Yes. Yes you do.
Customer Review: The way things should be Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, so you just spent about $1000 on an HDMI receiver(I'm talking about an actual HDMI receiver not a pass-through receiver that's strictly video) and you want every HDMI component to be plugged into it, but you don't want to spend another $500 in stupid cables. Well this is EXACTLY what you need. Okay I have to apologize in advance that the following will be in all caps: WHEN YOU HAVE AN HDMI CABLE IT CARRIES BOTH VIDEO AND AUDIO SIGNALS..... AND BOTH SIGNALS ARE DIGITAL 100% UNCOMPRESSED DIGITAL SIGNALS AUDIO AND VIDEO. THAT MEANS THERE'S NO DEGRADATION AT ALL!!!!! you could buy an HDMI cable for a million dollars, take it home and it'll look beautiful, what you WON'T know is that some smarter guy is out there with a 5 dollar cable getting the same EXACT beautiful sound and video. PLEASE Don't waste your money on things like MONSTER CABLE HDMI cables that run $100 plus instead enjoy having money in your pocket that you didn't waste. honestly the only difference is that Monster Cables are clear and sparkly and cost WAYYYY too much and the cheap cables are Black. Guess what, cables are meant to be behind components and never seen anyways!
