Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of HDMI Cable 2M (6 Feet)Customer Review: I just laughed Summary: 5 Stars
I was just thumbing through the Best Buy ad and noticed their Monster Cable 8" HDMI cable "on sale" for $116 ($18 off). I laughed, knowing full well that I had purchased this HDMI cable (I believe mine was 12") from Amazon about a year ago for less than $5 (+ shipping). I also find it funny that people will wait in line for hours on black friday, to save some money on a TV, then turn around and dump $100 on a piece of wire.
Lets keep in mind that these businesses/manufacturers are in it to make money ...and have every right to sell a product at the highest possible profit. What bothers me are salepeople who misinform potential customers, so they can land a big sale. An HDMI cable simply sends a "digital" signal from one component (ie DVD player) to another (ie, TV). Unlike speaker wire, electrical wire, length of runs, etc (where wire gauge/thickness matters), an HDMI signal either works or it doesnt. Granted, the customer should do their own research, and learn about all the product(s) they are about to buy.
Over the past year, I have had absolutely no problems with my purchase of this wire. I would place my TV right next to another set with a "Monster" brand cable anyday. I wish to thank Amazon and the manufacturer for making it available to us at a reasonable price. It will be several years before you see HDMI cables for under $20 in the big box stores.
Customer Review: Why use an expensive cable? Summary: 5 Stars
I saw some reviews that mocked the use of cheap cables, saying that the picture quality would be terrible, so I was skeptical about using a $2 cable to hook up my $300 Xbox360 to my $1500 HDTV. Then I did a bit of research.
According to the articles I found (google for yourself if you want to learn more), digital signal quality doesn't depend on the quality of your cable. Apparently, the fact that the signal is digital (a series of distinct 1s and 0s), as opposed to analog (a continuous RANGE of signals), means that digital signals are much less susceptible to degradation. This would mean that one HDMI cable is as good as any other.
I'm no electronics guru and I still wasn't convinced, but I figured this cable was only 2 bucks, so it wouldn't be a big loss.
The cable works. I've used it for my xbox and for my laptop and both output full, 1080p plus audio. There is no lag. There are no drops in framerate. There are no artifacts in the picture or audio. Everything works the way it's supposed to. I've been using the cable for about a month now. I've never noticed ANYTHING wrong with the signal transmitted through the cable and I can't imagine any benefit to getting a fancier, more expensive cable.
I'm glad I saved myself $80 by getting this cable. I'll probably buy a few more to connect my camera and computer to my TV.
Customer Review: Finally... Summary: 5 Stars
A seller that realizes it's just a freaking cable!!! This is a very good cable. I see the stores selling them for over $30, and never could figure out why anyone needs to charge $30 to over $100 for a freaking cable. I know, I know, some of those "other" cable manufacturers spend money on making the cable "look" cool with cool colors, flashy trim, and connectors, and try to make them look more high tech than they are. So, sure, if thats what you need in a cable, then your money, your pretty cable. Frankly, I'll take mine in "classic black" thank you, for LESS THAN $2 PER... I bought two of these, because they were so cheap, and figured if I got a bad one, so what, I got a spare, but guess what? They BOTH work great. A digital cable, channels digital packetes even in simple BLACK cables... So, spend your money if you choose on pretty high dollar cables, but if you just want to get your data from one place to another, these cables work great. Anybody tells ya "can't handle the bandwidth" are full of schit, and blowing technical smoke to justify their $40 cable, or trying to sound smarter because they felt dumb by beliveing that crap themselves.
I might pick up a few more, paint them fasion red or something, and sell them to the tards that feel the need to pay alot for a stinking cable.
Thanks Amazon, and their seller for offering these cables.
Customer Review: Such a great deal! Works very well! Summary: 5 Stars
I am pleased to write to all of you that this product not only has a fantastic price, unlike so many other products out there, but it also works as good as another product (heck, better) I bought not long ago for more than twice the price. A few months back I bought a Belkin product that was couple with a Blu-Ray DVD that "looked" like pretty good quality; thick sleeve, gold tipped ends, etc. I had it plugged into my PS3 and for a little while it looked fantastic. Then about several weeks ago I started seeing intermittent issues with the picture. I thought my PS3 was failing on me, great! and the warranty recently ended too! I went online chatting on forums to see if anyone else was experiencing similar issues and they did but a few had alternative solutions.
An online vendor that repairs and sells refurbished PS3's said to me, "It will cost you $99 to repair your PS3's HDMI socket and another $25 for shipping and handling." Never once did they offer, "Did you try changing out the HDMI cable?"
Guess what folks, it was the cable. This cable saved me over $100 and it did it with style and grace! It looks, dare I say, even better than the Belkin it replaced at a fraction of the cost.
It just goes to show you folks, "sometimes" you get a lot more for what you pay for. Do a little research, save a lot of money- I did now it's your turn!
Customer Review: If you spent more than this, you might feel a little silly now Summary: 5 Stars
I went with my grandma to help her move into the new world and get rid of her console tv. We started at Best Buy and got a great tv and then the guy started trying to up sell us and of course my grandma was eating it up. He tried to get us to purchase a HDMI cable for $100. I turned to my grandma and said "NO, I can do it cheaper". So we hooked up her tv with the coaxial cable and I started the search for an HMDI that was reasonable. This cable seemed too cheap to be any good. I mean I've gotten good cheap cables before, I'm the one who sets everything up for my family. But at this price I just wasn't sure because I've gotten really BAD cheap cables before too. I read the reviews and figured it was so cheap that I could just take the loss if the cables were no go. SO I ordered 2 for our TV to try it out .... WOW, what a difference. And the cables seem really well made and solid. The wires are not thin and the HDMI connectors don't seem flimsy or like they will be suffering from wire fatigue in a few months. They seem like really good, solid, well manufactured cables. Our tv now looks like my husband's dad's tv and he used the hundred dollar cable. And this is coming from a tech snob, it's gotta look good guys, it just has too. So I bought another one for my grandma and now her tv looks phenomenal (it's bigger than ours so it makes a really big difference.)
