I've used this type of battery before. Long lasting, no problems, I'll buy more!

Customer Review: Okay
Summary: 4 Stars

Although I've never seen a digital camera cheap enough to use AAs, the spot on the package about lasting "four times longer in digital cameras" gave me an idea. I have a rather large video camera, Panasonic AG-455, that takes a 2,000 mAh sealed lead-acid battery. The capacity on this was giving me trouble so I started looking for ways to improve the 1.5 hour battery life without adding weight to a camera that already weighs ten pounds. I bought twelve of these, soldered them together to get 12V and stuffed them into the plastic shell of a retired lead-acid battery. Surprisingly this arrangement works reasonably well, and gives about 6 hours run-time, although it takes forever to charge. I use this camera every day and have recharged this pack about 100 times with no real decrease in performance. The only thing keeping these from a five-star review is the price. I made another battery pack using cheaper cells, Intermatic "Malibu" 1,700mAh NiMH (landscape light) batteries and it holds up about as well and cost about 30% less.

Customer Review: Works great in my Digital Camera and for my Wii Remotes
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought these a little over a year ago and have been using them in my Canon S3 IS. I usually get about 500-520 shots per charge. I tend to use my flash about 20-30% of the time and I am always playing around with the zoom. When it is really bright outside, I will turn off the LCD and use to viewfinder. When I was on vacation charged all 8 batteries prior to leaving and had enough battery life to fill both my 2 GB cards and still view the pictures.

I have also started using these in my Wii remotes and they have worked for weeks without needing a recharge.

As many reviewers have pointed out, these batteries do discharge when they sit unused. I have had this happen twice when I have let things sit for 4-6 weeks unused (e.g., third Wii remote)

Minor complaints...as another reviewer pointed out, these get hot when charging. I have the slower charger that takes 4-8 hours to get a full recharge.

Customer Review: good batteries, could be better
Summary: 4 Stars

i havnt had a set of rechargeable batteries without a high discharge rate, which leads me to believe that its the norm. that said, im rating these in comparison with other batteries of this type. they do what they are supposed to do. theyre batteries people, if they die out, go and buy new ones. if they lasted forever, energizer wouldnt make any money. this isnt a stride gum commercial, its a business. buy them, enjoy them, and rebuy them as necessary. take care and i hope this review helps.
