Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Energizer 15-Minute Battery Charger Kit With Car AdapterCustomer Review: Works great . . . but a bit noisy! Summary: 4 Stars
Overall: Gets the job done in a hurry! This battery charger works as described but it is rather loud for a small gadget.
Customer Review: GREAT WITH NEW BATTERIES Summary: 3 Stars
I think it is designed for only relatively new batteries...
All the rechargeable batteries I own from a year ago dont get charged on this charger. I have to use my old overnight charger.. However, while the battery is new (so far batteries 6 months old or less), this charger is working perfectlty!! (15 is a true 15 minutes)..
I charge half my batteries( the relatively new ones) on this charger, and the others on the older charger..
The thing is all my batteries are the same, only how long ive been using them is the only difference.. This is a new way for batteries companies to make you change ur rechargeable batteries sooner! even though the old batteries might still work properly (maybe not in digital camera), but for sure in computer mouse or mp3 player..
Customer Review: Great, but.... Summary: 3 Stars
I agree that this is a great charger to own. Bought it for my digital camera, there is no comparison of this product to that of traditional alkaline batteries. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is not for a deficiency of the charger itself but that of the price. I paid $29 + shipping, total cost was $37. Target has this same charger for $27 + tax.
Customer Review: It's super fast, but... Summary: 2 Stars
Yep, the batteries charge in 15 minutes. Yippy skippy. However, even from the very beginning, the batteries that came with the charger will not hold their charge for more than 3 days - without even using them at all!
I bought this charger and the 4 batteries it comes with for my Sony digital camera. Even though it charges batteries in only 15 minutes, I often charge the batteries for my camera in the evening and place them inside the camera so it is ready for the next day. Sometimes I check and it shows a full charge. By the next morning, however, if I turn the camera on it shows that the batteries only have half their charge. They seem to provide less performance (in terms of number of photos I can take) than alkaline batteries, and have minimal standby time after charging.
I think the incredible speed of charging and the high heat generated during the fast charge from this charger ruins the batteries so that they do not hold a charge for as long as they are supposed to. This ends up being an inconvenience for me. I am disappointed and will be looking for another charger. For me, having my camera batteries last for at least a week on standby is more important than having the batteries charge in just a few minutes.
Customer Review: Great Charger, so far Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this charger for my Canon Powershot S1 IS after depleting in less than 70 shots two sets of 4 AA non rechargable alkaline batteries (Energizer and Duracell). I am using already the 4 AA 2,200 mAH batteries that come with the charger. The batteries were ready and fully charged in 15 minutes!, as advertised and didn't get hot because the charger has a built in small fan that cools the batteries during the charge. Leave the batteries 5 to 10 minutes in the charger after the LED green light indicates that the batteries are fully charged only the first time the batteries are charged, it is recommended by the battery makers and they know why this has to be done. The charger is made in China, the batteries are made in Japan. However the charger doesn't plug directly into the outlet, it comes with an adapter (only 110v) and neither the charger nor the adapter will fit into the Canon Camera Case that has room for only 4 spare batteries that you will not need if you carry the charger set with you. Other than the size, this is an excellent and well priced (around US 30.00$) set of rechargable batteries and battery charger. A must for any high drain digital camera that uses 4 AA batteries as the Canon Powershot S1 IS does.
