I purchased this charger and 3 more packs of rechargeable batteries so I could quit spending so much money on regular batteries. I have 18 total Energizer batteries and they work great! This is truly a 15 minute charger as I find batteries take 15 minutes or LESS to recharge. Ignore the bad reviews about this product because as long you are useing a good rechargeable battery, it will stay charged a long time. After over 300 recharge and discarge cycles, you will need to replace the battery. Also, for all of the other reviews, this charger will charge ANY NiMH battery regardless of mAh rating. However, don't recharge Ni-Cd in this charger since these batteries contain dangerous cadium. This is a NiMH charger, not a Ni-Cd charger. For Ni-Cd batteries, buy a Ni-Cd charger and DON'T use this one. Other than that, this is a sweet charger and LONG-LASTING batteries. ALSO- The batteries get hot while in the charger so there is a fan. It sounds like a quieter desktop computer while running. They get hot in all of the fast chargers because the energy is forced into the battery creating a lot of heat. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!Customer Review: Life Saver!

I just bought a new digital camera and it seems that having these rechargeable batteries are a must. In addition to purchasing batteries for that, I also bought some for my children's Leap Pad as we were just about to go on a seriously long road trip. On our way out of town, I had to stop and get my car smogged. The kids tried using the Leap Pad while waiting, only to discover the batteries were dead.
THANK GOD we had this 15 minute recharger!! We just plugged it in while waiting for the car to be done and presto! We're good to go! Can you imagine how hideous our trip could've been with three kids under the age of 7 and no batteries?
As for the product itself, it is super-quiet. I would never know it was on if I wasn't there sitting for the little light to turn green. The batteries are frying hot when they're done, but I consider that a small inconvenience compared to the benefit of this unit!

Bought this charger for less than $30 for my Canon Powershot S1 IS (which needs 4 AA to operate) and they work as advertised! I even use them to charge the 2300mAH rechargable AA batteries (Energizers of course) n it still takes only 30 minutes tops! I've seen chargers cost more than $30 that would take all night to charge even 1800 mAH batteries. Only one other charger i know of that supposedly charges less than 30 mins is the Rayovac 15min charger but they cost more n so are the Rayovac rechargable batteries (the only rechargable Rayovac batteries u can buy that allows u to charge at 15 mins - is only rated at 2050 mAh- any other kind like nimh batteries take all night). Bought mine at Walmart where it comes with 4 1800 mAh niMh batteries along with the charger to get u started. IMO, the Energizer charger is an excellent accessory for any AA/AAA battery-powered hungry gadget u have without spending a fortune.Customer Review: Awesome Product

I have been using this for about an year now, and i must say that i am totally impressed with this product. I have been very happy with the way it fully recharges 4 AA 2500 mAh NiMH batteries in little less than 16 minutes. It takes around 12 minutes to completely recharge 4 AAA 900mAh NiMH batteries. Really handy if you use cameras or walkman or Mp3 players or any AA/AAA battery operated devices for that matter. The fan makes hell of a noise when charging (A Computer fan has been fitted to cool the charger), but i think anyone can tollerate this for 10 to 15 minutes, once the charging is done the light turns from red to green and the fan slows down.
It is recommended that you leave the batteries in the charging unit for 5 minutes after disconnecting the charger from the AC outlet, but personally i have not noticed any considerable increase in battery life when done so.

I will only state a Few Important Points as there are tons of reviews on it already. First, YES, it really WORKS in 15 MINS and it is NOT NOISY to Boot (vs the Rayovac 15-minute charger that sounds like an airplane about to take off). And most importantly, it charges ANY RECHARGEABLE "AA" Batteries ! Having briefly owned the Rayovac 15-minute charger which requires EXPENSIVE, SPECIFICALLY Designed "AA" Batteries, you will save TONS of Money with the Energizer 15-Minute Battery Charger. Believe it or not, I just took it for granted that I would have to buy SPECIAL, Energizer Batteries (as I have 2x 7 MP Cameras that USE 4x AA Batteries EACH )as a Spare Set. I'm THRILLED knowing that I don't.
