Customer Review: Excellent Game!
Summary: 4 Stars

EA has done it again! Excellent game!Besides its realistic game play, the players are identical in real life. The most amazing feature is the off ball control which enables you to control a player that does not have the ball. Another great new feature is the practice mode, which teaches you the basics of the game and helps you learn how to master the game. One feature I miss from previous ea fifa games, is the tournament mode, which allowed you to create tournaments. This is a feature that was obviously missed and that users wanted to see in fifa 2004. Besides this, the game is absolutely amazing. THIS IS A MUST BUY IF YOU ARE A SOCCER FREAK. You will love it, specially if you are very much into european soccer. I also miss the world cup qualifier included in fifa 2002. Another thing i like is the ability of creating a team and taking it from 2nd or even 3d division, up to 1st division and making it the best team ever. I like the title screen and the music is AWESOME! YOU NEED TO BUY THIS GAME!

Customer Review: Way cool
Summary: 4 Stars

I got it yesterday. Spent six hours with it. The game is much more realistic now than ever, particularly from the defensive side of things. You can actually produce clean sheets consistently with this, unlike FIFA 2003. Many of the features like the end-to-end camera with zoom and height controls have returned from FIFA 2002 which were missing in FIFA 2003.

The play is realistic. The UI still stinks (hence the missing star.) It is confusing sometimes. "Waiting for Away Team." Still have not figured out how to get the away team to show up! But the career feature is great! You actually get to earn money, and prestige (not sure what that means yet, but sounds interesting.) By earning money for your budget means you can improve your club over the long haul. In FIFA 2003, you were give X amount of dollars, and that was it. This makes it more interesting.

Hopefully Hull City will extend my contract next season after I get them out of the third division.

Customer Review: Solid Effort
Summary: 4 Stars

I have played every FIFA title since 96 and each year they get better, but 2004 offers a larger step up than previous versions. The career mode has to be looked at as a positive because it is the first time EA incorporated anything of the kind. I am disappointed in Career Mode because if the dev team would just talk to the Madden team they could have made the career mode so much better. I despise the interface (yes i have the patch) it seems a lot like they just threw the PS2 interface onto the PC version and tossed in a mouse cursor for kicks. On the field is where this game really shines, hence the 4 stars, it is very competitive and the graphics are excellent. The realism is stunning and the action on the field is also realistic. I still think the management portion of this game is crap, but it will keep me going until I get TCM in a few weeks. I have not explored the online portion of the game.

Customer Review: FANTASTIC!!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have loooonged for a decent soccer game on ANY platform. While in Japan, I had the chance to play Winning Eleven 6, and I thought I had found the motherload... until FIFA 2004. Before playing it, I had read several bad reviews, so right off the bat I went in with a low expectation.
You have so much more control over who you can pass to. The Off The Ball control, though a little complicated, is a true asset. It is more in depth, it is more strategic, you can even control the spin on your kicks in penalties, overall, REALLY FUN!! Not to mention the graphics are through the roof! I haven't tried the on-line capabilities, so I can't truly give it a full score.
I think the only reason for so many bad reviews is that too many people prefer a brainless run run run and shoot game. You have to pass and be patient! This is a great game! If you don't have it, GET IT!
