simple plug adapter that worked great in the EU (for me, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany)
The EU plugs are long enough to fit into all the outlets I tried, and they are toleranced well so the adapter does not fall out of any of the outlets either.
If you are looking for a simple, reliable, one piece plug adapter, I recommend buying this one.

This adapter works great both for US travelers to Europe or China, but also is great because it allows visitors from those locations to the US to plug in as well. It is compact and lightweight, I hardly notice it in my backpack until I need it. I bought two for gifts, because of their flexibility. It worked flawlessly at every location I visited, and it is an amazing value for the insanely low price that Amazon sells it. This is a great travel adapter. The price is far lower than similar adapters found at other sites and works perfectly. We used it in Australia - the prongs come out and twist inward to fit Aussie sockets. It is compact, fairly light and cheap! I was a little skeptical with how this converter was going to work just because of the price; however, it worked perfectly. I charged my phone, camera, ipod, and even used a curling iron and everything worked perfectly. To my surprise as well, I saw the same exact one while I was in Paris going for up to 13Euro. Literally, same exact one!
