Customer Review: ALWAYS read the instructions !!

This adapter has all the features needed for travel virtually anywhere (without doing any voltage conversion). Even though it has an attractive price and claimed to do what I wanted - I still ordered it with some apprehension because of reports that in some cases it fails to fit snugly in a foreign socket - thus defeating any practical use. For me, these reports proved unfounded. Why? - apparently these users failed to read the instructions!! Despite being very simply to operate - the 'locking' mechanism actually serves two purposes which may not be superficially obvious. I'm sure no one had any problem releasing the lock to get at the UK prongs (for example) - BUT after you release the prongs you MUST reset the lock!!! Otherwise, the spring loading mechanism will prevent the adapter from staying securely in an electrical outlet. The step is discussed in the one page instruction sheet - but I'm certain many/most never take the time to read it over. In my opinion there should be no worries about purchasing this item - it's a must-have for going over seas. I'll be getting more!
