I use these speakers with my first generation Zune 30GB. Perfect at office. I have power coming from my PC and just drop in my Zune and connect a wire to the headphone jack. I have the speaker volume at about half way up and the Zune volume on 5 while I'm working. At the end of the day I turn the Zune up and share with the office. Keep in mind these aren't high quality stereo speakers, but they get the job done with decent sound. Good value for the price. I just received this one. Didn't trying using it on batteries, so don't know the batter life. Other than that it's just amazing that this thing, which cost me tiny $2.84!!! is so cool. Importantly, it works perfectly with my Nokia 5800 Express Music. Definitely, one should not expect full surround or professional sound - look at it and its price tag and set your expectation. I was skeptical about at these speakers. For two months i was eyeing this item. When my little battery operated speaker is dying, i had to get a better or just a decent speaker. So heck, i got this item. I turned the volume up and it was booming, what a speaker, little ones can boom so much. For the price and the quality of the sound, although it cannot compete with my outdated bose speakers from the 90's, still it kicks the bass like there is no tommorow.Customer Review: Great speakers for the price!

I got these for my kids to use with their iPods since they sometimes want to listen to them without using the earbuds. These speakers are an amazing value for the price! The sound is very clear, and it certainly turns the volume up loud enough! The ipod sits better in the holder upside down, which is kind of goofy, but a small inconvenience for the great price. Use as a white noise machine for my kids when they sleep. Works so well I bought another. I use a AC outlet > 2 usb adapter to power these USB speakers and my ipod / iphone 3g. The usb ports are for power only.
The sound is transmitted through a headphone jack. I don't use the cradle because it interferes with the Ipod/Iphone 30-pin connector (which I have plugged in to keep the device powered all night).
