I ordered these speakers for very limited use(yoga room background music), not really expecting much based on the price. When I got them I plugged in an adapter and my portable cd player and was absolutely shocked. The sound was much better than I ever really expected. There is distortion at higher volumes but I don't need them that high anyhow. I must admit, it is an added bonus that they are battery operated, although I don't use them that way now. It is nice that they can be taken out in the yard, that makes them extra nice to have. I have since bought 3 more sets in case these don't last long, for the price I am willing to have back ups on hand. So far so good.Customer Review: I was truly amazed

I was a little skeptical about buying this item, because it was $4!!! so i figured it must be some cheap item that wouldn't work to well, and i read the reviews and figured why not give it a try and im soooo glad i did. This little thing can get pretty loud, and the sound quality is great for its size! i just wanted something to take out to the jacuzzi with me so i didnt have to wear headphones and risk dropping my Zune into the water or something and this does more than i was hoping. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about it. Now that i think about it, i feel like i pretty much stole this little thing. Great product.Customer Review: Awesome little speakers!

For $14 including shipping, these folding speakers can't be beat. The sound quality is decent (better than my laptop speakers), the design is clever, and the price is phenomenal. The only downside, as someone else noted is that they don't come with a 6V DC adapter, so you can't power the unit from a wall outlet. I suppose you can buy one separately somewhere, but if you don't, you'll need to power these using 4 AAA batteries or the USB slot in your PC. The dock fits my Zune and iPod perfectly. It's not a snug fit for the Nano (there's loads of space for the Nano to slosh around. Overall, these are well worth the money!Customer Review: Great for work!

If you are looking at this to get for your desk at work, get it. For the price, you can't beat it. I have a Zune 120gig that I didn't want to use headphones with all the time (I like to hear what is going on around me too) so I bought these. They don't "dock" to your player, it has a headphone plug you can use. Also, mine came with a USB > Power adapter cord, so i set it next to my work computer and that USB port powers the speakers! The packaging they come in is a plain white box, but for the price, I would rather it be cheaper and not have fancy packaging. Plays nice and quiet or loud. This is indeed a bare-bones, no-frills set of speakers suitable for a Zune HD. It is so basic that there are no included instructions for assembly, battery installation or use. The stand for your MP3 device works if the 3.5mm output jack is on top. In my case the Zune HD sits upside down in the stand. I don't intend to switch music tracks around a lot while using this product--it'll keep me company while I'm working out.
The sound quality is acceptable without making the output tinny or harsh. Overall, I found this item an inexpensive alternative to lugging a CD boom-box, finding an AC outlet, etc.
