I play bass guitar for my church.
As a bassist,
I often have to stand near/close to the drummer.
The drummers that I play with play extremely loud
and most of the time,
without drum shields.
These "earplugs" works wonder in deflecting the sound volume
but minimizing the effects of distorting the sound quality.
On a personal basis,
I would definitely recommend this earplug.

I go skeet shooting a lot and these ear plugs fit the bill. i hate wearing those big bulky sweaty ear muffs. these are simple comfortable and easy to clean just slip them in and your set. When in between rounds I take them out and put them behind the top of my ears and the stay in place while moving I also do not like strings attached to my ear plugs best of all they are hard to see in your ears so when you wife starts talking about her feelings you can just nod your head and hear a muffled versionCustomer Review: Hi fidelity earplugs

These plugs work well for cutting a few decibels while performing music. I play in a rock band, and the volume level is a little damaging on stage and when I use these I can still hear ALMOST everything and my ears don't ring the next morning. For really quiet moments the plugs work too well, so I alternate between moving the plugs all the way in and leaving one or both halfway out. For around $10 plus some shipping they make the music sound much better than standard ear-filling foam plugs.Customer Review: The best ear plugs ever for loud events

These earplugs do a remarkable job of quieting noisy environments by reducing the overall db level across the acoustic spectrum. In that regard, these ear plugs far surpass foam plugs which muffle sound, especially regarding hearing someone speak. Note that these plugs are not designed for truly unsafe workplace sound level environments and are best suited for loud musical concerts, dancing venues, and loud bars. Using these at concerts is a revelation! At shows I used to have to choose between having my ears ring afterwards as I scarily lost more hearing or having everything sound muffled and terrible with regular earplugs. Now I can use these and everything sounds great, just quieter. It even makes talking to people between sets easier as I can filter what they're saying over the background noise better. I'm never going to show without these again, highly recommended.
