Many MIDI interfaces are small boxes with MIDI and USB inputs, with separate MIDI and USB cables. Even if you have an integrated set, the interface box is normally bulky too. But EMU XMIDI 1x1 is different. The interface 'box' is actually so small that it is just slighly longer than the normal USB-A Male connector. Very handyCustomer Review: Very pleased

Ordered the X-midi 1X1 with standard shipping, and it showed up the next day! Loaded the software, and was playing music within 10 minutes. As noted elsewhere, the MIDI cables are quite thin, but the unit is smaller than other interfaces and stores easily in my laptop case. I just ordered this product and am using it to connect my keyboard to an HP Pavillion laptop with Windows Vista. While the software didn't install, it is a plug and play device and it worked like a charm with Finale 2008.
As others have said - it either works or it doesn't, and so far so good.

This is a good USB MIDI cable. It come with driver on a CD or you can download the driver from their website. This cable work with my Yamaha MIDI enabled keyboard and my Yamaha DD-65 electronic drum. This cable allowed me to transfer songs from MIDI devices to and from the computer. It work like it should.Customer Review: Works well with Yamaha YDP213

It's wonderful when equipment works the way they are suppose to, and this definitely works with the Yamaha YDP213 piano. Minimal effort to install the driver, plugged the adapter in, and WinXP and sequencer software recognized it immediately. By the way, this is listed as the Xmidi 1x1 on E-mu's web site.
