Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of EMU XMIDI 1X1 USB MIDI InterfaceCustomer Review: Just what I had needed for a long time!.. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm always amazed at this electronical world we live in.
I had always wanted to do more with my Yamaha Clavinova piano, but never got around to doing this.
I just plugged in the two midi connectors to piano, and simply plugged in the usb into my Apple computer,
and I was all set to go!...
Thats the advantage of having an Apple computer. Just "plug & play"...
I can now simply record my "masterpieces" in Apple's "Garage Band", then send it to Apple's "iTunes",
and then make a "recording on cd" of my billiant musical creations for all my friends and relatives to
hear and suffer through!....
Really, this E-MU Xmidi interface is some piece of work!....
If you've got a piano with "midi", I suggest you go for it, and get this wonderful piece of electronics!..
Customer Review: E-MU does it again Summary: 5 Stars
My previous MIDI interface, in the early Nineties, was through my soundcard's gamepad/serial port. After years in mothballs, I recently reassembled my equipment but couldn't get around the problem of latency with my MIDI wind-controller. I had read that USB was the norm with MIDI these days and so decided upon E-MU after reading several positive on-line reviews and factoring in cost.
The E-MU Xmidi 1x1 interface arrived in record time and was a snap to install. Now that I hear the difference in signal response from the 'old days' I'm very happy indeed. I also like that the lights in the unit tell when MIDI signal is passing through the device. It's makes troubleshooting a breeze. All-in-all, a great product that does it's job well.
Customer Review: Works as it should--and then some. Summary: 5 Stars
For those of you who are unsure, this product DOES work with Windows 7 64 bit.
I am currently using this product with Finale Songwriter and Hauptwerk free edition on my laptop and with a Yamaha keyboard. I never have problems with it and it is fairly rugged. I wouldn't suggest hanging something from it, but it is rugged as far as things like this are concerned.
The only problem I ever seem to have is that sometimes there is a delay of a few seconds between a key press on my keyboard and the note being played on my computer. This is not due to the cable, but rather the program itself. If you run into this problem, you can most likely fix it by re-starting the application you are having trouble with.
Customer Review: Works great with Windows 7 64 bit! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this MIDI interface after seeing better reviews for it than some of the cheaper alternatives here on Amazon. The adapter came in excellent condition, and all I had to do was plug it in. I did find some drivers on the E-MU website and installed them just so I would have official drivers for the interface, but it worked fine on my Windows 7 64 bit machine. I use it with a Digitech Whammy IV and Cubase, and it works just as it is supposed to. The USB connector itself is a little loose, but as long as you aren't moving your computer around or bumping the cable a lot, it should be just fine. I haven't had any problems with the cable falling out. Recommended for anyone who needs a good, cheap USB MIDI interface!
Customer Review: Worth every penny! Summary: 5 Stars
This interface is worth every penny, it worked perfect with my Zoom G9.2tt Guitar Multi-Effects unit. I recommend it hands down, specially if you have a G9.2tt and are looking for a MIDI interface that will work for sure for your patch editing.
This unit is very simple to use, if it does not work out of the box for you, you may try visiting the company's website and downloading and installing the drivers. Also make sure to select on your software preferences the correct MIDI input/output ports. If all your attempts fail and you know you are not very good with computers you should try getting some help from someone who knows his way around computers before resorting to returning this baby!
