I've purchased this for my Acer netbook (kids like to watch movies during a long drive) and for my wife's new Droid X (GPS function in this smart phone demands continuous power supply).
Overall, it works great for both my small netbook and smart phone. But its blue light is hard to see in the sunlight. Please, make sure you push the button when you use this.
I will recommend this to my friends who understand electronic. I am a little concerned about car battery drainage but it didn't happen to me until now.

Purchased this to use aboard a sailing catamaran with a 12-volt system to charge electronics (camera, laptop, cell phone, etc.). It works as expected, and the availability of both a standard AC outlet and a USB port was an added plus, allowing us to sometimes charge two devices at once. It was easy to pack for travel, too. This is the first inverter I've ever owned so I have no way to compare to others, but this one worked like a charm for me.Customer Review: Great Pocket Inverter!

I use this to power my Dell D810 laptop and Cellular KR2 router while on the road. Together they draw about 75 watts@120v while charging the battery and this inverter handles it with ease. It's also small enough to take with you in a laptop bag.
It does run warm to hot. The first few times it gave off a 'hot-electronics' odor and I thought it may go 'poof' but never did. Just be sure to give it enough air circulation.

This 175 watt inverter is full featured, very compact and quiet. I installed it to run a 13" TV (40 watt) in our RV and it works perfectly. I could have gone with the smaller 100 watt model, but for a few dollars more I opted for over-capacity. This product is fantastic. It provides ultimate freedom and mobility while using rechargeable battery powered devices. With this device, I am able to take my laptop into my car and I am no longer limited by the charge on my battery because I can plug into an ac power source! I would recommend this product to anyone that needs to break free from limitations imposed by the battery life!
