I had a great experience with this product. I took my 4-year-old son on a thousand-mile road trip. This kept my laptop, ipod, and cell phone charged with no problems. (I didn't use the computer very much on the way but did use it and appreciated having a full charge for two days of driving. The kid watched movies and we listened to music on the ipod touch, which stayed plugged in most of the time.) It never got too hot and takes up very little space. I appreciated the other reviews about the power indicator light being a little hard to see and the fact that it turns off when you turn off the car. I paid attention and turned it back on when I started the car and was fine. This is about the same price a lot of providers charge for a phone travel charger and it charges almost anything. Be aware that the wires for the battery clips that it comes with are super-short. I wasn't planning to use these, so it doesn't affect my review - I think you'd have to have a separate detached car battery to make use of those - not really sure. But it worked perfectly with my traditional cigarette lighter.
