Based on the reviews, I was expecting to receive a cheap knock off that works. When I received the package in the mail a couple days ago, I actually got the cables that is shown in the picture and not a generic version of it. Are they OEM? I highly doubt it. But at 2 bucks, I'm not complaining. If others are receiving a different version of the cable, it might be a craps shoot in terms of what you get.
Anyways, I plugged the cable into my laptop and it fully charged my 4th gen iPod. Based on my experience, I would recommend this product.

The cord to my iphone started to get frayed, so I figured I'd replace it. Little did I know it would be $19+ tax at the Apple store. Yikes. I saw cheaper non-apple cables for $12, but $3 including shipping??? I admit it, I was skeptical. But, for $3, I figured I would take a gamble and place the order. The cable looks just like the apple one, I can't tell them apart. I'm guessing the $3 one isn't the real deal, but who cares? It works!
I read earlier reviews saying that the cord did not work. Perhaps the product has changed?

The cable I received was exactly the same as the latest Apple cables - at a fraction of the cost. The connector fits into the small opening of the iPhone4 bumper. After getting my wife an iPhone4 for Christmas I was all prepared to shave down the non-Apple connector to fit into the bumper as I'd had to do a few months ago when I purchased some non-Apple cables for my own iPhone4. To my delight, these cables were exactly the same size as the one that comes with the iPhone4! We purchased this for my husband to take to work just so he wouldn't have to cart the cable that came with his iPod back and forth from home. It was affordable and has served its purpose well. I highly recommend this product for anyone who needs to be able to access and charge his or her iPod in multiple places simply because of the convenience of not having to tote around and keep up with the cable. It would also serve well as a replacement if the original has been lost. I don't know which cord these other reviewers received. But, I received an Apple brand cord, same as pictured, that works perfectly. The sync time with this cord is lightning fast. My only grievance would be that the cord and the box it came in weren't in 'perfect' condition. Maybe just a storage and handling problem. But for a dollar and ninety four cents, I ain't complaining. If you need a iPod cord get this one, If you're dissatisfied just send it back. Come on, this cord is barely even two dollars and shipping is free.
