I got this as an xmas gift and was a little sceptical after reading some of the reviews here. I decided to give it a go on 2 audio discs that had been permanently skipping in the same place no matter how much I cleaned them. I followed the instructions,it took about 5 minutes per disc, and they both played perfectly afterwards. I don't know why other people have been having trouble - I can only comment on my experiences and I would definitely recommend it for audio CDs.Customer Review: Works so far

I bought the skipDr to repair some Xbox game discs and some CDs. I've only used it once and on a disc that was would skip like crazy on that last few songs. The skipDr. was able to repair the CD and now it plays perfectly. I don't know what everyone else is complaining about, if you were not able to repair the CD/DVDs perhaps they were TOO scratched to repair. The instructions say that skipDr. WILL NOT REPAIR SEVERE DAMAGE. It's worked for me so I'm happy!Customer Review: I miss it

I had this for years, and it saved many, many CD's, CDrom's, and DVD's which had some mild scratching. I'm shocked at the negative reviews- the only thing I can think is that they did not use it properly. It requires a lot of water, and after the wheel has been used for a while it tends not to work well. It is only something you do AFTER your CD isn't working, so there is no way it could really "ruin" it (as the CD is already ruined!).Customer Review: SkipDR works wonders!

I bought the SkipDR at the suggestion of a friend, as I didn't even know that you could fix CDs. I followed the simple directions and it worked! I have fixed all sorts of CDs, including my kids' video game discs and DVD movies. It's easy to use and there aren't any chemicals or complicated things to worry about. After reading reviews for this thing I decided to order it and see for myself cause the reviews are so wildly mixed and for me it works like a charm! Maybe the reason so many others are having problems is that they aren't following instructions? The final buffing with the square pad is a very important step and should not be overlooked and you should buff until the spiraling that the crank part leaves is removed.
