I read the negative reviews on this and kept shopping. I found professional systems that were hundreds (or thousands) of dollars. So I came back to this one. Despite the negative reviews, I bought it and it has worked great. We get DVDs from the library and some of them, especially the children's, are abused to the point that the DVD player will not play them, even after cleaning them. The DvdDr has been able to make all of them playable. I have used it on 7 or 8 discs.
There are a couple things that could be better. After 4 or 5 discs, the wheel is not as effective and I have to run it 2 or 3 times on a disc. The other thing is that (currently) the replacement wheel costs more that the entire system here on Amazon. Digital Innovations 1051100 Accessory Kit I was able to find a cheap replacement elsewhere.
If you want this to work well. Read the directions. Clean the discs before you put them in so you don't make things worse.
