Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Digital Innovations 10185 Skip Dr. Motorized AutoMax Scratch Repair SystemCustomer Review: Works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
How can I not give this 5 stars? For $35, I got a machine that repaired 10 of 11 discs that were unplayable. Only 1 track on 1 CD couldn't be read(I ran it through the machine 3 times). There is a $250 JFJ EasyPro, and a $3,000 RTI Ecosmart disc repair machine. The discs I repaired didn't come out as new, like the other machines advertise, but then again, I only paid $35. Very east to use, and you can order a AC adapter for $7.50 shipped. As far as anyone taking off stars for noise, what's up with that? I mean you just repaired an unplayable CD dude. It takes about 90 seconds per repair try. I always run it through at least twice. I was amazed at some of the discs that the Skip Dr. repaired. Rush out and buy one now. You wont be disappointed.
Customer Review: Fanstatic product!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have tested several disc repair products that claim it would fix scratches, you name it, well they did not work on two discs that I possess or half of the other discs that I own. I bought this product in town, tested it on one of my disc that was really messed up with scratches, after I finished utilizing the product, my disc worked the first time I put it in my DVD player. The second disc that I tried, it did not work the first time, so I attempted it one more time and put in my DVD player, and it performed flawlessly! I would tremendously endorse this product to everyone, it does what it says!! It may not work the first time you use it, just run it through two or three times, and it will work, at least for myself, it did.
Customer Review: Worked 1st time Summary: 5 Stars
A short time ago one of my son's Xbox game disks stopped working - the Xbox couldn't read the disk. I tried the standard methods of cleaning the data surface (warm water with soap a few times was my last shot) and they had no effect. I decided to gamble on this device since a) it was getting good reviews overall, b) if it worked it would save us $60 for a new game, and c) it would be my insurance policy against future damaged disks.
Well to my surprise it worked like a charm. I ran the damaged disk through the machine twice just to be sure, and it booted up in the Xbox on the first try. I was pretty amazed it could be that easy.
Highly recommended for ease of use, price, and most importantly it works!
Customer Review: Need to use with Skipdoctor Summary: 5 Stars
This is great if you use it with the Skipdoctor. I have rented many DVD's that wouldn't play in my old DVD Player. Now I have a 17 month who loves to play with her DVD's and scratch them up when we mistakenly leave them within her reach. MY METHOD IS TO USE THIS MOTORIZED MACHINE AND THEN USE THE MANUAL Skipdoctor CD Repair Kit TO GO IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION ONE TIME. THIS WORKS! However if you only use the this motorized machine you see it doesn't work well. I do not know why but by going with the motor in one direction around the DVD and then back manually in the other direction one time it works on even the worst DVD's. I hope this helps those who have been frustrated with this motorized machine.
Customer Review: Get One Summary: 5 Stars
I've only about 100 or so DVDs but many of them are kids shows. After repeated use, the kids had scratched some of their DVDs to the point of becoming unplayable. I searched for a cost effective way to do some DVD repair and this seemed to have the best reviews for the price point.
It's very easy to use; spray, insert and wait, remove and wipe clean, buff, done. It takes about 2-3 minutes to get a DVD back into shape.
Every DVD that I had that was unplayable is now a playable disc thanks to this machine. I had tried a couple of different approaches a few times on some of the discs but nothing seems to have worked as well.
I'm glad I bought it.
