Customer Review: Miracle worker.
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a CD with some film music that I really liked. Unfortunately the use library copy I bought had seen a great deal of wear and other mistreatment. The tracks I wanted to hear would skip, or otherwise not play. It was frustrating. I bought a hand crank disc repair kit by Memorex. It had worked well on other discs that had problems, but only seemed to make the problem CD worse.

Yesterday afternoon during my lunch break I went and bought this device at Radio Shack. I really didn't want to spend the money, but at the same time I didn't want to trash the disc. So, I splurged on the automatic version of the DiscDr. I didn't have much hope for it. I figured I'd be disappointed, angered, and otherwise out $50 (batteries not included).

Wrong. On the first play in my car stereo I could hear every track. It was a bit of a chemical and electronic miracle that brought a smile to my face.

Check it out. It's worth it.

Customer Review: Excellent product!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had went out and bought some "other" disk repair systems, and none of them worked, so I returned them. I was a little skeptical of this one even though there were some pretty good reviews on it. Well I am soooo glad I got it!!! I had a PS 1 game that I had been trying to play on my PS 3. The PS 1 disk had some scratches on it, two of them were pretty bad, and about halfway through the game, the screen went blank, so after trying different products, I finally got this one.

I could really tell a difference the first time I ran it through. All the little scratches were gone, but the two big ones were still there, but not as bad. Well after about 4 more tries in the machine, there were no scratches whatsoever, and my game worked!!!! I can get past the part now where it was a blank screen!!!

I also repaired several of my toddlers dvds that were badly scratched. Now if I can find replacement parts for when they wear out!

Customer Review: Still the best.

A lot of people take very good care of their discs.
....I'm not one of them.
Here a cd.
There a cd.
Everywhere a cd,cd.
Cd's on the floor.
Cd's on the fridge.
Ok, I'll stop. I think you get the picture.
Enter the Skip Doctor.
I used to have the old, green hand turn version and that one saved many of my cd's.
I like this new one better, just pop the disc in, let it spin and you're done.
Is it a cure all?
No, some skips are so deep not even this can fix them.
Now, that said, even if you can get the disc to read I found a program called EAC (Exact Audio Copy).
Look it up. It's free and will fix even the most scratched cd so you can save a perfect mp3 to your computer.
Of course The Skip Doctor will help get you that perfect copy that much quicker.
The Motorized Skip Doctor.
Reasonably priced, effective, highly recommended.

Customer Review: Money Saver
Summary: 5 Stars

I tend to be rough on my CDs/DVDs/games, so I figured I'd try to save some money by trying to repair them rather than replacing the ones that won't play anymore.

Well, this product is definitely the money saver I had hoped it would be. I have PlayStation2 games and CDs with some pretty significant scratches that previously would freeze up and refuse to play, but now work perfectly.

Depending on how deep the scratches are on your disc, you may need to run it through the machine multiple times before it will play cleanly. It took about 5 turns through the machine before one of my more badly damaged PS2 games would play smoothly, but eventually I was able to buff the scratch down enough that it won't interrupt play anymore.

I give this product 5 stars - no need to replace your discs, just run them through the Skip Dr. and get back to enjoying them.

Customer Review: It worked for me, too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was playing Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance one day, and BAM!!!! The game stopped working. My town has a game shop where they can repair your games for a dollar. I tried there, but it STILL didn't work!

One day, I saw this while on a vacation in Florida. I was a bit skeptical, after all, it cost $40! But what the hey, I could refund it if it didn't help repair my nonworking disc. It worked. My game plays like new again.

Here's how it works: just spray entire play-side of the disc with the spray provided, stick it in the machine [with the play-side facing the wheel], wait a minute, then, when it pops out, dry the disc with cloth provided, and buff it using the little pad provided [that helps restore the shine].

It's small, lightweight, and easy to carry. I suggest to get this if you have a nonworking disc.
