I was given a PN-20 as a gift a year ago. I use it extensively hiking, four wheeling and snow machining. Compared to the Garmin and Magellan units I've owned previously, the Delorme is a far better unit. It's easy to use and easy to sync up to a computer. I tend to download my tracks after a day's outing so that I can view my trip on the Delorme software and print or save the trip. It also had a much more sensitive antenna. My previous Garmin could not get a fix without an absolutely clear view of the sky. My PN-20 gets a fix inside my house, in the car, and in all conditions outside. The main drawback for me is that it's a battery eater. If I go out for an all day adventure, I will use two sets of batteries, but that would be an issue with pretty much any GPS.Customer Review: Excellent GPS

The DeLorme Earthmate PN-20 is an excellent little compact GPS unit. The Topo 7.0 software that came along with this unit is easy to use and is indispensible when planning a trip or marking property boundaries. I utilized the PN-20 to navigate a trip to Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico and found it to be invaluable as well as very dependable. I have also utilized this GPS out in the field to find and mark property boundaries as well as to mark points of interest on the fly which were later transferred with ease to my computer and the Topo 7.0 software. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone considering the purchase of a reasonably priced GPS with many great features.Customer Review: A really great GPS unit

I bought this unit to use outdoors because I have been a big fan of their paper Atlas for more than a decade and more recently of their software. This GPS unit is a real gem! Extremely rugged, water proof (it even floats in case you ever take it with you fishing). Initially, I had planned on only using it recreationally, but I have Delorme's XMap software for work and discovered that I could scan our company system maps and download those onto the PN-20, too.
I do however wish that the screen was a little bigger, sometimes it is a little difficult to see the small screen.

I used to use a Garmin 60CSx and then this came along and there is no going back. The maps and imagery provided by DeLorme are integrated into the system in a unique and innovative manner. I think because DeLorme has been making maps for consumers and governments for years they understand mapmaking at a higher level than the other GPS providers. and as such they have blown me away with this exciting new GPS. A most versatile product for handheld use. I have navigation in my car and a low cost Garmin nuvi I use for driving when using rentals, but for all other uses this unit is substantially more complex in capabilities and benefits. Excellent screen fully visible in full sunlight. Also, the unit will use SDHC cards up to 32 GB. I confirmed this with Delorme customer support before trying it.
