So far ive had the dell axim 51v for 2 weeks now. Ive had no problems whats so ever with it. Im currently in the army and i use it for pretty much everything, except PT :) The activesync did have preblems connecting with my laptop but that was solved with the new update. Like another reviewer stated you MUST dl the new upadte. This thing is basically a small computer and you can do whatever you want with it. I use it a lot for movies and internet because im always traveling to bases all the time. The only drawback is that it doesnt have a built in hardrive but that would raise the price tramendously(sp).Customer Review: Dell Axim X51v PDA works with www.instantstream.com

I like making video phone calls with my new Dell Axim X51v PDA. I when to www.instantstream.com and setup an account, the guys at instantstream call me up and installed streamphone on my PDA and sent me a video cam. In about 3 minutes after getting my web cam i made my first wireless video call to my friends and wow, I have made many many more video calls and video conference meeting while sitting in my local Starbucks on my T-mobile hotspot account. ...

This item is great. My only complain it that the start menu bar and the bar at the bottom of the screen are too large. ozVGA and other trueVGA utilities fix this, though, though not entirely without new problems. I highly recommend it, though you might want to look at the other Pocket PC's that have the newer Intel processor.
These can be upgraded to have 128MB RAM, and you can even upgrade it to Windows Mobile 6, if you look hard enough.

Dell Axim x51V is Powerful gadget for IT professional and enthusiasts. Someone can say that GSM functionality would be a plus. In my opinion it depends on your needs. Axim has flexible connectivity options which are Wireless, Infrared and Bluetooth. In addition, with its powerful CPU, 3D graphics accelerator and 3.7" VGA screen has muscles to perform most of the tasks. I'm really, satisfied. I had an ENORMOUS amount of trouble getting this thing to work. Many many phone calls, online forums, conversations with Taj and Mahal and Chatterjee, etc., ActiveSync nightmares, on and on and on.
Finally after all this Hassle and aggravation, finally got it to work perfectly. It does every thing it is supposed to and more beautifully!!!
But.
It was too much trouble.
Next time a Blackberry of an Apple.
