I was looking for a way to manage the proliferation of USB toys needing to be docked to my desktop. I did a bit of research on the web and found the D-Link hub to have the features and form factor that would work well. A nice feature is the small power adapter that doesn't take up 4 slots in your power strip.
Basically this 7 port USB 2.0 hub does its job well and at a very reasonable price when the $[...] rebate is taken into consideration.
I would highly recommend this hub. The problem of slowing down to 1.1 speed for all slots even if only one 1.1 accesory is plugged in was not an issue for me but something to consider if you still use USB 1 accessories.

In short, don't think twice about this Hub, it's perfect! Required no extra setup, just plugged in the power and cable to the computer, and you're on your way. Transfers and operations go very quickly. Currently have a printer, external hard drive, iPod/iPhone, 2 card readers... and I think that's it... and they just work flawlessly.
My only complaint is that the plugs to the power cord and to the computer's USB are on the opposite side from the 7ports. All of my peripherals are either behind my display, or under the desk so I don't need the ports facing me if it's sitting on the desk. Instead I have it sideways for the most convenience with cords.

I have been having no problems with the D-Link at all. Both of my flash drives that i have used with it have had no problems. My iPod has had no problems and my Epson 2200 printer hasn't had any problems either. The most I have had hooked up at once is those 4 things, so I can't say that all ports are able to work when they are all in use, but so far everything has been great. I mounted mine with some double back tape inside the "computer cabinet" of my desk where my desktop stands and no over heating issues have occurred. The hub isn't even warm to the touch. I would recommend this hub for anyone looking to expand their number of usable USB ports.Customer Review: Runs everything perfectly

I got a little tired of the cable clutter on my desk, so I bought this 7 port usb hub. I'm so glad I did. Previously, I was using my Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers which have a hub built in, but I was also using the usb ports of the side of my notebook which was causing a USB mess and sometimes I'd have to unplug something to plug in my mp3 player. So far, I have my printer, notebook cooler, external hard drive, wireless mouse/keyboard, and pen tablet all hooked up to this and it's working perfectly. I just wish I had bought it sooner.Customer Review: Great Hub

This hub is small and will not take up much space on your desk. Its is easy to install. I have matched it with a d-link pci usb adapter.D-Link DU-520 5-Port USB 2.0 PCI Adapter and they work perfect together. D-Link has been a good product over the years, we used their equipment in the school system where I retired as a Computer technician. I am using mouse,keyboard,momitor,scanner,printer,mic,webcam and camera inputs in my usb ports. All work great with no problems.Be sure to use the supplied drivers BEFORE installing the hub or card.
