I purchased this D-Link hub for use with my Dell Latitude D820 Laptop over one year ago and now I'm back to buy another one for my second home office laptop, a recently purchased Dell Latitude D830. I did my research the first time around and when I find something that works well, I find it efficient to stick with it!
This hub has done the job admirably and I highly recommend it. No problems whatsoever, easy to set up, easy to use and nothing to worry about. Perfect for someone like me that wants to plug it in, start using it and never think about it again.
My highest recommendation is that I'm back to buy a second one.
Additional comment as of August 2010: I have now purchased five of these hubs and recommended them to many friends. All are working great!

I recently bought a new laptop and unfortunately, it only came with 3 USB ports (my previous laptop had 8 USB ports). So I was in desperate need of a USB hub.
The D-Link is great! It is small, so it doesn't take a lot of desk space. The design is nice, the power cord and computer USB port are on one side and the 7 USB ports are on the other side (no cables looping around at awkward angles). The D-Link has a very slick design, it is easy to install (plug and go), and easy to use.
I bought the D-Link around 1 month ago and I haven't had any problems. There was no noticeable change in transfer speed for my external harddrive or external CD/DVD burner. Although, I usually don't use more than 1 of my external devices at a time.

I was using all the usb ports on my laptop and also all the ports on a 4 port usb hub; I was out of usb ports and wanted to upgrade to another hub that would accomodate all the devices that I use on a regular basis.
I found this D-Link 7 port hub, read many of the reviews, and decided to buy it. I plugged all of my devices into this hub, and have never had a single problem. I have a mixture of older usb devices (1.x) and newer usb devices (2.x), and Windows XP svcpk2. I never got a single error or warning message from WinXP, so my OS and this little device are handling everything just fine.
I'm happy with this device, and I'd recommend it. Thumbs up on this one.

I bought this to use with a Mac book pro because the usb ports on the Mac book pro are in a horizontal configuration and too close together to attached some usb cables. Having the hubs usb ports in a vertical configuration eliminates the problem of usb cable plug size and allows the hub to be smaller. It has the additional advantage of providing extra usb ports. I use the hub to hook up a couple of 500gig external HDs and a usb card reader. I also charge my ipod and Blackberry with it. I haven't had any of the problems mentioned by others. The setup was extremely easy, just plugged in and use. I liked it so much I just purchased another one to use with a Toshiba pc laptop.Customer Review: Works fine.

I needed additional USB ports and researched USB hubs. This one got good reviews at a reasonable price. Most cheaper ones had issues that I didn't want to have to hassle with. I connected this as the main hub for direct use items like printers and external hard drives, and use my previous hub as the secondary for gps, bluetooth, flash drives, etc. I have had no connection problems at all. This also allowed me to have my wireless keyboard/mouse usb connection closer to my work surface. Because of free shipping, this hub was cheaper than one at another source with rebates. My experiences with Amazon and Amazon sellers has been excellent and influenced this purchase.
