I am a avid cyclist. Aggressive dogs are a big problem in the rural area I live in. I have bitten 3 times while cycling. I had one dog bite my spinning front wheel which crushed his jaw. I have even gone over the handle bars when a pack of dogs chased me one day. I am chased on almost every ride.
Not a big fan of "domesticated" animals for obvious reasons.
The Dog Dazer was recommended by a friend. I was skeptical. To date, I have been chased by 5 dogs since buying the Dazer. All the dogs were different breeds. All 5 dogs stopped chasing when I pointed the Dazer at them hit the button.
Pros:
IT WORKS.
it's cheaper and safer than using pepper spray or a gun ( I would use the latter if i would not end up in jail for killing a dangerous dog).
Cons: It is a little bulky and heavy.
Would I recommend it or buy it again?

This works so well, we purchased two of them - one to carry with us outside, and one for inside and to point out the windows.
We use the Dazer II as a training device to keep our dogs from doing things we don't want them to do, like jumping up on people, and social barking (barking just because another dog is barking.)
You have to be within 20 feet and be pointing the Dazer II at the dog for maximum effect, but once the dogs hear it and start learning from it, they pay attention from even 50 feet away. It produces more consistent and well-rounded training when you use verbal cues like "No!" or "Down!" just before clicking the device.
However, it doesn't work for all dogs. Out of twelve dogs, two of them just look at you when you use it. Like all ultrasonic devices, it only works with line-of-sight: not through walls and windows. It works well through screens though.

Okay....two weiners, condo community...neighbor's kids. What do these all add up to? Incessant yapping! I couldn't even keep my doors open (with screens of course!) Point & shoot, and both dogs come running and sit down. I hate to have to use it, (I think they are more afraid of the noise...I don't hear it) but now I only have to even LOOK like I am going to get the Dazer! It's MUCH more quieter around my home. Yes, they still occasionally bark to let us know when someone is at the door ...like they are supposed to, but no more "non stop" barking! AWESOME training tool!
One note...My daughter uses it on her dogs now, one dog complies, the other is more ...aggressive. She waits till you put it down & starts again, so I suppose it does work differently on different dog personalities.
Also...got a neighbor with a barking dog? YES! IT WORKS!!!!!!!

My neighbor's dog always barks right on the other side of the fence when I'm outside. It's obnoxious. I try to have fun in the back yard with my wife and 3 year old daughter. We can't even talk, we have to scream over a stupid dog that won't shut up for 5 consecutive seconds. I saw the Dazer on Amazon and had to try it. The first time I tried it, the dog stood there wide-eyed. He ventured a short bark, it hit the button again, and he slinked over to the other side of the yard with his head and tail down. At last, I can enjoy my own back yard!!! I only have to use the Dazer about once an hour now. When he does bark, it's only one or two weak barks, not the full blast that just wouldn't stop like before. I can't speak for everybody everywhere, but this thing sure worked for me. It sure is nice to be able to enjoy my back yard again!Customer Review: Gets a Dog to OBEY !!!!

My Lab/Retriever mix has amazing amounts of energy and loves to jump up on people to give them a hug. Although this is is his way of showing affection he weighs almost 100 pounds and can really knock a child down. After trying trainers techniques and even a shock collar nothing seemed to work until I got this item. I recieved it at 3 PM and by night fall he would not even take his paws off the ground to greet someone. He was also bad about hitting the end of his leash going towards a passing car, but when he gets in that stealthy tracking mode toward a car a quick zap and a stern "NO Dallas" stopped him in his tracks. Now he ignores vehicles that are going by, even school busses and UPS trucks. I am amazed that I have had this for only a few days and he seems now like the smartest dog in the neighborhood. A definate buy !!!!
