Customer Review: Great protection for my passive pooch

My dog is not aggressive, but he has been attacked more than once by very aggressive dogs, both times the other dog was off leash, the owner was nowhere to be seen, and I ended up standing in the middle trying to keep the dog from getting at my pooch.
I wanted a passive way I could defend my dog. I found the Dog Dazer online and decided to give it a try. It doesn't injure the other dog, just scares him. The way it's designed you can avoid zapping your own dog too, the sound travels straight out from the device, so unless you point it down at your own dog, he shouldn't get hit.
The Dazer works great! I test it occasionally to be sure the batteries are still good (had it for 3 years now) but I have only had to use in in defense of my dog on 3 occasions. Once on a dachund (seriously) the dog ran straight through one of those 'invisible fences' to get at my pup. He got within 5 feet of us, I hit the button and he paused then approached again, then I hit the button again, and he snorted and trotted off back towards his home.
It was well worth the $20.

I have a next door neighbor in my townhouse complex who had a friend and her yappy loud barking dog staying with them for months. When the people were away, the dog would bark at ANYthing that went near any window. Since I work from home, this annoyed me all day, so I researched ultrasonic dog trainers and found this little gem. As soon as I got it and that barking mutt started, I hit the button and....SILENCE!!!! I was amazed and ecstatic!
Well, since then, friend and barky dog have moved out (thank goodness!), but this past weekend, the neighbors where dog sitting and yes, the mutt started up again when I was out in the back yard. So, I got the Dazer, went to the back of the house and after 2 barks, hit the button...he took off for other parts of the house! It's still working great!
I also keep the Dazer around to help discipline my cats occasionally for bad behavior, fighting, etc. That's one thing you need to be wary of...it affects ALL pets in the vicinity of where you're using it, not just dogs, so be careful when and where you activate it.

Very impressed with this device. It worked wonders on the neighbor's dogs. They would bark non-stop when I'm in my back yard--not any more! When I aimed the device at them, both dogs ran QUICKLY and hide in the garage, tails between their legs. I have nothing against animals but the non-stop barking was getting on my nerves. I have tried talking with the neighbors about their dogs, they were unresponsive.
I did try it on another dog who barks non-stop out the homeowner's windows. It did not seem to penetrate the glass; however, the dog did hear something as it quieted his barking and his ears did twitch. It did the trick but he did not run and hide as the other dogs had done.
I would suggest this device to any one who has troubles with dogs that bark non-stop. I plan to take it overseas when visiting third world countries where dogs can get rather aggressive and the idea of getting chomped by one of these dogs is frightening. I wonder how it would work on the monkeys in India? I plan to buy another one and give it to a friend as an early Xmas present!

There is a neighbor dog who violently barks at me every day when i walk outside.
i bought this on a lark due to the positive reviews.
it arrived a week later. and i couldnt wait to try it, half expecting complete failure.
then the dog mysteriously disappeared for a week. I think he had heard that I got this bad boy in the mail.
Well, today, when I opened my door to go to work, the old familiar barking began. I giggled to myself as i was walking to my car.
The dog barking ferociously.. from about 15 ft away.. I reach into my holster and grab my dazzer and slowly point it at the dog..
*click* goes the button
(silence) the look on the dogs face is like "WTF just happened"
he is quiet for a moment. then begins barking again
*click* the button is pushed again
again, the sweet joy of silence..
there was no more barking..
but there was a smile on my face as i walked away.

I was skeptical when purchasing this item even though it had good feedback. I live in a small apartment with a house in close proximity. The nearest part of the deck on the house is approx. 10 feet from my apartment. You guessed it!! A huge dog spends a lot of time on the deck (right outside my apartment) barking and barking and barking.
I deceided I might as well give the Dazer a try. After I received this product I couldn't wait for the barking to start and I didn't have to wait long.
One blast from the Dazer and that big dog turned around and ran in the house. The next time he barked, same thing happened and he ran right back in the house. It took about 3 time with the Dazer, now the big guy lays quietly on the deck and I don't have to hear hours of barking.
It even worked once when the dog was at the far end of the deck barking and I think that would be approx. 20 - 25 feet from my apartment.
This product is the best!!!
