Switch was simple to install to my existing network, just plug and go. I used this switch to separate some CPUs off of the 100mb network and put them on the gig highway. Worked just as planned and was seamless. I actually added two of these and saved big jack over a 16 port gig switch. Network speed and response time increased even for those CPUs w/out a gig nic. I like the idea of having a switch with capacity that far exceeds network traffic. Highly recommend.Customer Review: D-Link = Awesome router

First off this is an awesome router, easy to use, simple setup and awesome speed. The guy at Staples told me not to buy it and said it was bad and to buy a linksys. I told him listen here guy I bought a Linksys last time and the thing was garbage. Poor performance, lost connections, slow internet compared to D-Link and it crapped out in 1 years soon as the warrenty wore off. Avoid Linksys and get D-Link routers for the best internet experience.Customer Review: Plug and Play. Great value for money

This is my second one. Works great.
Noticed a 'green' label on the box claiming less power usage on unused line. Sounds like a good thing, but I'm not going to check/worry about it.
I've been running mixed speed just fine for a year or so on my first one.
Using 10mb to an old Digital VAX, 100mb to most 'stuff' and GB between my workstations and two servers (Alpha and Itanium).

It just works, saves energy (supposedly), and is reasonably priced. I have 3 of the 8 port switches and one of the 5 port switches. I haven't ever noticed any problems with any of these D-Link "green" switches. There are also some "deals" and rebates on them from time to time.
The only little con I can think of is the LED display could have been better. It has a limited angle that you can look at the LEDs at and see them accurately.

I had a problem with my internet phone service. My son was running his online game box and was causing audio break up on the phone. The network was not handleing the data stream demand. I changed out all of my hubs and routers to D-Link , same 100 MBS and I no longer have the problem. In fact, the whole network is running faster. Easy to install, and it has a power cube that works on a power stip without taking up 3 outlets. What a breakthrough!
