I purchased 2 of these to use on my gigabit home network. These units run cool and quiet (no noise whatsoever). The LEDs are sufficiently bright to indicate network activity, but not enough to blind you. Installation is simple, just plug in the AC adapter and your network cables and you're all set. It comes with 2 wall anchors, 2 screws, a manual on the CD, the switch itself, and a power adapter. The switch casing is plastic and the unit runs cool to the touch.Customer Review: Small switch

There really isn't much to say about this, but let's see what I can do.
It is a 4 port switch, and is great for small networks. I use this in a network with 4 machines where all have gigabit cards. It replaced a 4 port hub (gasp), so throughput is great. There isn't anything to complicate this, you plug in power and your cables, and you're good to go. There are lights on it to let you know whether there is a link or not. That's about it.

It works, it shares connection between computers. I have 2 and both work exactly the same. They are transparent in that I never think about them and they never need any kind of service or adjustment. Totally plug and play with no software install or setup. It doesn't get too warm so stacking hasn't been a problem. It's small enough not to get in the way. Since I had a D-Link router, I went with the D-Link switch. Pluged all the wires in the proper places, turn it on and it work with no problem nothing to reconfigure. It even seems that my internet connect is working faster with this switch, but don't ask me why, because I couldn't tell you.
The switch has really helped out because of the computers on the 1st floor and my PS3 is in the basement.

I've used several of these switches and they have performed flawlessly every time. I've never once heard a noise from any of the three switches employed around my main office. This is a really nice product if you're adding devices to an existing gigabit network, or even to create a mini-gigabit network on a 10/100 infrastructure between a few machines. You can't get any easier to use than this.
