Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD UPS - LCD Display 1500VA/900W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45/Coax Tower USBCustomer Review: Powerhouse Summary: 5 Stars
My Cyberpower is hooked up to a liquid cooled behemoth of a computer with two internal hard drives, 20 inch monitor and a 1 TB external hard drive. with all of that the software that came with the Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD estimates the battery will last 27 minutes, even if I get half of that it is more than enough time to finish up and shut down the computer safely. With this particular unit you do not have to hook up the battery and reassemble like APC requires you to do; just plug Cyberpower into wall for 16 hours and then hook it up to your computer.
You do not have to install the software it is there to make it convenient to see the status of your battery pack and its capabilities. you do not even Have to reboot the computer after installing, I believe the software is 3 MB.
Customer Review: Impressive Power and Quality Summary: 5 Stars
The first thing one notices with the CP1500AVRLCD is how compact and well built the unit is. The UPS is small and heavy with a very useful LCD display, and the unit appears to be of excellent build quality. The software that came with it for automaticly shutting down the computer is both informational and functional. I currently have a Dell Studio XPS with a Core i7 940 CPU and 12GB RAM running Vista 64-bit, a 22-inch LCD screen, a cable modem, and a router connected to the UPS. With these items attached, the UPS indicates only 20% load capacity and a run-time of about 35 minutes. Although I have only had the UPS for less than two months, it has operated well through the several power interuptions that have occurred. If you are in the market for an UPS, I highly recommend that you consider this product.
Customer Review: Great for Home Theatre Summary: 5 Stars
I bought 3 of these; one for my main/work computer, one for my HTPC and one on my Sony rear projection TV. These are definitely worth the money to protect your valuable electronics. Besides protection against power outages (any UPS will do that) it protects against surges AND brownouts (the AVR in the model number). Brownouts or low voltage conditions are nasty for anything using a switching power supply and this will save your equipment if that occurs. The only negative I can think of is you have to use the supplied Power Panel software to turn off the power outage alarm. My rear projection TV doesn't have a computer interface, but I just connected my laptop, loaded the s/w, turned off the alarm then disconnected the laptop. Excellent insurance policy for your expensive electronics.
Customer Review: I like this UPS best Summary: 5 Stars
Bought one of these last year to protect my iMac. Has worked flawlessly thru tons of outages, brownouts, spikes, etc. Terrable power here. We get a couple hours uptime if using computer and even more when in standby. I use the UPS protection for the computer and associated items, and the filtered side for other items to prevent spikes.
Bought 2nd one to protect my replacement TV (power blew up old one). Placed ATT box on it also to keep it online where we can watch tv even if power goes out. Works great. Haven't had an extended outage lately to see total run time but load shows lite and expect a good run time.
I will buy these again for any product/room that should ever need protection or brief power. May end up with one in every room.
Customer Review: Great backup UPS for home and business systems Summary: 5 Stars
I have two of these at home now and one at the office. Has been running my home entertainment system for 6 months and my home computers, weather station and ham radio receiver for 2 months. Great insurance policy against power outages and brown-outs. Without these units, I had to replace the power supply and video card in my home PC (due to a power brown-out) that cost more than this unit did.
Also, during storms that cause power outages, I still have my TV, DSL Internet and computers running.
At the office yesterday, they needed to shutdown my office power so that they could work on the office two doors down. I was able to function on my Cyberpower UPS for the 20 minutes it took them to work on the circuit and I had absolutely no downtime.
