Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD UPS - LCD Display 1500VA/900W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45/Coax Tower USBCustomer Review: Still going strong a year later. Plugged it in and forgot about it. Summary: 5 Stars
We have fairly frequent power outages in our town because all of the power lines are overhead, instead of buried, and there are plenty of trees to fall on them. So we have a generator. The problem is that the generator takes 30 seconds or so to kick in when the power goes out, which is more than long enough to lose all of my work in a power failure. The Cyberpower unit is perfect for bridging that gap, and every time we have had an outage it has kicked in without skipping a beat. Because it is only ever running on the battery for 30 seconds I have not needed to replace the battery.
The unit has 4 outlets on the back that are battery protected and another 4 that are surge protected only. I use the surge outlet for my laser printer as UPS protection is not critical for that device. The unit is quiet, runs very cool, and is one of those things that you can buy, plug in, and forget about, and it quietly goes about doing its job.
Customer Review: The Small But Mighty Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this UPS for my new custom built desktop. I didn't know how much power my PC would pull and I'm expecting some upgrades, so I bought this 900W UPS. After reading other reviews, I wanted to see whether my PSU worked with this UPS. I've got an 800W BFG power supply with Active PFC. I plugged the UPS into a surge protector and powered on my PC. After it booted up, I flipped the switch and the UPS switched to battery with an audible click. My computer remained on. The UPS continuously provided 120v. The screen did not even flicker. I left my computer idle for a while and found that it only drew 99W when idle.
Pros: continuously provides 120v @ 60Hz.
switches state rapidly without disrupting the computer.
High capacity, can support lots of computer peripherals.
not too loud when operating on battery.
cheaper than comparable brands.
Cons: none.
Customer Review: No brainer UPS Summary: 5 Stars
This unit replaced an OPTI ES1500. It doesn't get warm, does not buzz when it wants to, has a small footprint, and lots of outlets, some just surge. It includes the easiest software I ever installed. Price was right. About the highest surge capacity [Joules] for this type [home/small office] ups. Permanently attached input cord eliminates the occasional AC disconnect - when unit hot or moving it around or the errant foot snagging the wire. The LCD screen provides all necessary input/output data instantly, rather than opening the software. Been using battery backups / ups for 24 years and this is the best all 'round unit I've used. I would recommend this ups to anyone who needs high capacity or extended run time. Cyberpower CP1500AVRLCD UPS - LCD Display 1500VA/900W AVR 8-Outlet RJ11/RJ45/Coax Tower USB
Customer Review: Great UPS for Home Theater Systems Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this UPS to protect my home theater system. I have my HDTV, HD-DVR, and PS3 hooked up to it because brown-outs, power surges, and power outages can really damage components like HDTVs or equipment with optical processing systems.
When in normal operation, the UPS is very quiet and cannot be heard as an ambient noise. The front panel LCD screen tells you everything you would want to know about the power situation for your connected components. There are a few non-battery backup outlets on the back of the unit too so you can still take advantage of the surge protection the unit offers without the battery backup.
I've had a couple brown-outs and power outages and was relieved to find that there was no flicker or very quick loss of power between when the power went out/browned-out and when the UPS battery kicked in.
Customer Review: Turn your PC into an alarm clock! Summary: 5 Stars
I live in Florida where there are constant power fluctuations and outages. This is by far the best UPS I have ever purchased. I am running a dual processor server with (4) drives spinning and a 28" monitor. When the power goes down, I have between 20-35 minutes of run time left. The software is great, and does all the expected things like close and saves files in the event of an outage. Now, here is the way cool part; if your PC supports USB wake-up, it will turn the computer on and off at whatever interval you choose. I have a TV tuner card installed (the UPS also has coax protection)and I am able to set the computer as an alarm clock to come on in the morning to the news. In addition, the unit comes comes with a QUALITY USB cable, ethernet cable, and a coax cable. There is not a more complete, feature packed unit out there. If you don't buy this UPS, you are a "dee-da-dee"!!!
