Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB HubCustomer Review: CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub Summary: 5 Stars
The best! This is the only hub I've been able to use with Vista. It runs consistently for hours with absolutely no problems. I've got 4, and I've also bought them for my family. They're worth the price.
My other-brand hubs refused to recognize my peripherals (I have a lot of external drives + burners, cooling pads, printers and a scanner) when connected to my Vista laptop. The configuration is fine on WinXP, but when I took the USB connector out of the old comp and connected it to the new (more powerful) one, suddenly it was reporting dead ports all over the place. So I tested each hub by itself. The other brands showed dead ports. When I got to the CyberPower, everything was working.
A no-brainer. I bought 3 more without even thinking about it. I haven't had a problem since. I won't even look at another brand of hub.
Customer Review: It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Summary: 5 Stars
In a single sentence, this is an attractive, well-made, powered 7-port USB hub that works exactly as it is supposed to work.
I have only two small gripes. First, the form factor--upright on a small base--assures that it will fall over every time you touch one of the cables plugged into it. I solved that problem with a little piece of that 3M "you can pull it off cleanly" double-side adhesive tape that I scavenged from a coat hook. Second, there is a red LED that tells you that it is powered up via the supplied wall wart and then a line of green LEDs running down the inside of the case that do absolutely nothing except light up--all or nothing--to tell you that you have at least one device plugged in. Why not just use ONE green LED and sell it a couple of bucks cheaper?
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: small and handy with a blue beacon Summary: 5 Stars
I use this hub with my Mac and it is great. I just plugged into my USB port on my MacBook Pro and have never had a problem with it. You can optionally power the device with the included AC Adapter, which lights up a bunch of green lights and one brilliant blue light at the top of the green lights. This blue light is extremely bright for its size and may need to be covered if you are sleeping in the same room with it. I have plenty of open slots for additional devices. If you are using this device vertically in the stand there is a front USB slot for you to attach your flash drive without any effort. Everything (at least with a Mac) is recognized and ready to go once it is plugged in. I would highly recommend this hub - you can't find anything as nice for the price that is powered.
Customer Review: It Works! Summary: 5 Stars
I use Vista 64 bit.
Like everybody else, I lamented that pcs are produced with nowhere near enough usb hookups.
I turned off the pc, unplugged all the usb devices, hooked it up, plugged everything into it. Turned the pc back on, and it identified everything. Canon scanner, Microsoft webcam, Sony Handycam, Western Digital external hardrive, Logitech joystick.
For some reason I thought the hub was just a little bigger, but thankfully it's not. It does have enough heft to make it stable on the desktop.
If I'm not mistaken the instructions stated that I didn't have to turn the pc off, but I also wanted to use the opportunity to clean up wires and update my surge protector.
It works, and I'm happy. It's been a rough week, and I needed something to work.
Customer Review: Good solid USB Hub! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this one based on all the good user reviews and its popularity. I had to replace an older D-Link USB that just didn't seem to work at all on both our mac's and PC's (I had two D-Link's). I had hoped this Hub would actually work unlike the D-Link hub and it does the job great!
I bought two and hooked one up to the PC and the other to the Mac and plugged 7 devices into each. Everything worked and I did use the power just to make sure I could charge off of it if I wanted to. This hub works perfect and the LED's look awesome.
Very happy with this product and would buy same one if I needed another USB hub. Of course I'm sure the 3.0 versions will soon start to proliferate but until then this is a great USB hub and priced well for what you get.
