The handset is solid and heavy, and unlike the phone in the image provided, the connection between handset and phone is one of those curly cables. It's a long enough cable to be comfortable. This phone is from an era when people talked on the phone and not much else simultaneously (besides taking notes, perhaps). Both hands won't be free, and there's no speaker. It seems to be one of the only classic old-fashioned desk phones on the market- I searched quite a while. You will feel quite stylish talking on this phone.

This beauty was originally cast in a heavy duty metal and then later reconditioned in a lightweight thermoplastic giving it a more stylistic approach and curved design. The Kettle Classic Desk Phone successfully combines industrial technology with design-inspired craftsmanship right down to the classic cloth cord.
