I've had the ZEN for about 10 months now (I thought it was longer!).
I watch lots of anime and TV shows, but I also have a full time job, so I dont always have time to just sit around.
This device is the perfect compromise. I live in NYC and my commute is long enough that I am able to watch an episode or two of my favorite shows on the way to work. You also have the option of listening to music AND the radio, which I also use plenty. The expandable memory slot is also perfect for increasing collections. The battery life on this thing is also very good. I can go a few days without having to charge it. I've only ever had it freeze on me maybe 2 or 3 times, but pressing the reset button fixed that up easily enough. The ZEN coupled with the Any Video Converter ([...])
is the perfect combo for TV on the go!
I would HIGHLY recommend this device to anyone seeking a portable media player that doesnt cut too much into the wallet. It's a solid device. Just be sure to get the matching case to protect it ;)

We purchased this for our 8 year old son as a christmas present. He was completely thrilled to get his first MP3 player, and was super excited when he found out I put some family movies and pictures on it (or as he put it when he noticed: "Wow! There are memories on here!")
I did not need to show him how to use it, beyond showing him where the power button was... he's been able to figure out EVERYTHING on his own, including how to set the background wallpaper. Talk about an intuitive interface!
I added an 8Gb SDHC card and put some of his favorite DVD's on there for car trips... was easily able to create perfect digital movies for it after a little research at an average of about 650MB per movie. Your best options for encoding movies for this device is either a WMV file (I did not go this route) or an AVI file with xvid at up to 1Mbps and MP3 Audio. I encoded my files at 950Kbps xvid with 128k MP3 using DVDFab, and the results were perfect.

I've had this player for one week now and everything meets my expectation. It's very easy to use. You can pretty much figure out how to use it (for the most part) without the manual. I listen to a lot of classical music. The bigger size of the display can show more information about the music than players like Zen V plus. Album art, pictures, even texts look great on the screen.
As for the software, I upgrade the firmware as soon as I got the player. The process went very smoothly. I don't need to do any reset so far as some reviews say. I didn't install any Creative Zen software from the CD. I just use the windows media player as my organizer and it works like a charm with Zen. I don't watch any video on the player. Otherwise I probably need the Zen software for video file format conversion.
All in all I like this player very much. Hopefully it can last a long time and provides me a lot of great music listening experience.

Ok, got on line to look for my brother a new player. I found this and did some research. It did not get bad reviews on a few sites I checked out and well the price was right where I wanted to be. So what the heck got me one too. I personally like it, and well so does brother! He says he is just happy to have one that holds the amount of songs he wanted. (Hooked him up with about 680 on his and still has room). I like mine because of all the features. I mean well honestly the last one I had was not the TOP of the line either. I have not figured it all out yet and have not added video to it - but plan to! You know what folks - for the price DO IT! It is very light weight and easy to just put in a pocket. I use it to work out with, mow the yard, or even just chill in the sun by the pool! If I have to pick my favorite part is that I can use a personal photo as like the desktop background of it all. This is a really cool item, made by Creative, but I managed to get a brand new one a little bit cheaper on Amazon! I hate to admit, but it took me a few min. to get how to use the player, but once I did, I thought that it was the coolest thing! It has a nicely sized display screen (that's full of color), its got great sound, and pretty easy to manage, once connected to your computer! I'm a little sad, because I only got the 4GB, and I shouldv'e gotten the 8GB, because now, I want to put ALL my stuff on this cute little thing. It's pretty lightweight, but you can tell that its made of durable material and the battery life is really long. If you purchase this product, you're gonna like it! So, I recommend getting the 8GB one, get the little leather cover case to keep that shiny black pristine, and get the car charger for it, because you'll use it more often away from your home and pc. Great product!
