Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Zen 4 GB Portable Media Player (Black)Customer Review: AWESOME! Summary: 5 Stars
i got the 4gb Zen cause it was so cheap, but i loved it so much, i just sold it to get either a 8 or 16 gb model! yes, i used to have the Zen Vision M, which was a great player, but Creative has come a long way and it really shows in this player. the sound quality is just as good or even better than the ZVM, but the size of the screen remains the same, while significantly slimming down the entire player to credit card size and giving you the addition of the SD/SDHC card function really gives you your moneys worth! i was able to fit 6 family guy episodes, 1 episode of House and around 240 songs onto a 2gb SD card and eventhough the card function is kept separate, it works great! you get two libraries here! amazing! a tiny, light and very sleek looking player that packs a mean punch, a lovely screen, great audio, lots of options, great battery life, bright, and very easy to use. and like other reviewers here, i agree that the buttons are a bit small and they should have made them light up like the ZVM, but those details are very minor and the pros definately outweigh the cons here.
Customer Review: Awesome-ness Summary: 5 Stars
The music playback is superb, however, the video quality isn't quite what I thought it would be. If you're looking close enough, you can sometimes see the individual pixels. The screen gets fingerprints on it very easily. (so I HIGHLY recommend buying the screen protectors with it, they solve the problem) In many other reviews, people have complained the iTunes support doesn't work, and I just wanted to clear up that it DOES work. On some songs. It's not Creative's fault that some don't work, it's itunes. Some files are 'protected' and cannot be played on anything other than an iPod (but if you burn them onto a cd, and then rip it back onto your computer, it takes off the 'protection'). The battery life is great, I don't have to re-charge it that often. One annoying thing is that a little blue light comes on whenever you turn it on, and it stays on until you turn it off. It's fine during the day, but when you're trying to sleep, it's very, VERY bright. Great product, overall. (If you're looking for something smaller, I highly recommend the Creative Zen Nano plus.)
Customer Review: No I-Pod for me :) Summary: 5 Stars
I love this thing!
I also own a Creative Zen V in a 2G but wanted to be able to watch movies or music videos, the resolution is very good and the sound is great, I rip my CD's in 320kb so quality is a must, the software is easy to use and I definitely prefer the drop and drag of folders as opposed to the goofy iTunes way of transferring the music to my player with low quality, so Yes - I am NOT a fan of the who I-Pod thing, sure they look cool but dealing with the many problems associated with their software is less than satisfactory to me, and If something happens to your hardrive and your iTunes library is wiped out Apple doesn't make it easy for you to transfer the music and other files on your iPod to a new iTunes install? It is a laboring task to say the least.
With other players on the market that are a drop and drag you simply move folders back on to your new hard drive and your done.
- Yup so No I-Pod for me :)
I will stick with people like creative, SanDisk, & Samsung to fill my portable needs
Customer Review: Couldn't Ask for More..! Summary: 5 Stars
It is an excellent product. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give to that.
I have very good experience in buying stuffs online, especially from Amazon.
However, I never buy anything without a well research.
My main priorities were the quality, features and the value for money before I buy it. It is very rare we find stuffs with the match up with all those categories.
For example, an i-pod could be an excellent quality product but I believe that is unfairly overpriced due to the popularity and demand. But also ipods have very poor features. Most of them if not all ipods don't have radio, voice recorder common docking capabilities like this creative Zen product.
This product really has the quality, features and the value for money well exceeding my acceptable level.
I don't know why some of the buyers had faced some unfortunate situations and unhappy about it.
However, if someone pay $100 for this product and asking for the quality and features of a $1000 product is very unfair.
Customer Review: Wow, this ZEN is unbelievable Summary: 5 Stars
I am so impressed with this new Zen. It is the size of a credit card (but thicker) and it seems they thought of everything. The screen is crystal clear, the audio is awesome, and it has every feature I wanted. The more I learned about it, the more I am impressed. It charges using a USB port, so you have to have a computer or at least access to a USB port to charge it. That is the only con I've found, but they do offer a 110 ac usb charger for additional cost. The thing I like about it the most is it allows you to store videos that are hidden unless you input a password. So, if you have private family videos you don't want your coworkers to see when showing it off, they are secretly hidden. The screen is relatively big for a small device, so it shows all the music info when playing music. The latex skin that I bought fits perfectly and allows it to clip on belt. All around, I would definately recommend this thing...I love it. I never write reviews, but this thing deserves one. The designers did a GREAT job putting this thing together.
