This looks awesome! I have a Zen Vision W now, and I love it but it is pretty big, it is nice when traveling. I would love to have something smaller that I could comfortably carry around with me on a day to day basis. And it even takes SD cards! One of the only things I found annoying about the W was that the CF card slot can only be used for pictures, and to view them you have to transfer the pics from the card to the Zen memory in order to view them, so it doesn't really add any extra storage capacity. As long as I can actually play music and videos from the SD card I will be happy. I don't need a bunch of playlists so I don't see that as a problem with this new device. Creative always has high quality stuff, and I love that they always include divx and other video/music format compatibility (unlike Ip-d)! I can't wait to get one of these under the Christmas tree this year! I have always liked Creative better than Ip-d and based on this, that's not going to change any time soon.
The only things I can think of to improve this unit would be a wider array of colors (although the black is pretty slick looking) and a removable battery, but again, these are minor issues. And I hope this package includes a wall charger (although if not I'm sure Creative will sell one).

I looked for media player for over a year before I decided on the Zen. I have had several creative products in the past and have never had a problem. My concern was that "mp3 players" were getting so many features that the complexity was too high for "something to listen to while working out." I didn't want the world, just some music (and maybe a movie) while working out.
The Zen gives me that. It's easy enough to use that I can change albums while running or driving without looking at the device. I can load music by transferring files to it like a USB drive. If you want to use the software, it takes a little work, but once set up, it does make futures updates faster and easier.
I thought about the 32GB, but couldn't justify the other $100; especially when the 16 GB has an SD card slot. No complaints so far. In fact, it turns out to be so versatile that I use it while working out, plugged into my car stereo, at my desk at work, and plugged into remote speakers at home. I guess this is just what I wanted.
I'm sure in the future the idea will be to have all the music I own on one media player, but this will last me for several years until 500 GB solid state is available and cheap.
I would recommend this to anyone.

Love to listen to digital books almost as much as I love to listen to music and wanted an mp3 player that could handle both well. Did a lot of online research and read a lot of reviews and decided on a Creative Zen. Have had my Zen for about 2 months and absolutely love it. My 16GB has plenty of room for my music and quite a few books, and the additonal sd slot makes it even more versatile.
Although Creative advertises up to 30 hours of playback, I usually only get about 20 hours of playback on a full charge, but I often rewind or fast forward while listening to digital books.
Only down side for me so far is that my digital books always end up in the music folder of my media library - so trying to play my music at random always includes excerpts from my books, which is rather annoying. Can add a book file to my media libary, just haven't figured out how to get my books into it yet - wish they would have thought of that and already had a book section in place, separate from the music library.
My zen has frozen on me only once so far, and a paperclip to the reset button took care of the problem immediately. No problems otherwise - would definately recommend a Zen and would buy the same player over again!

I love this player! I did not want an ipod. I wanted to just play mp3 that i owned with no drm on them or restrictions. I LOVE how it syncs up with Windows Media Player. This is so cool -- I can rip all my songs from my CD's directly into Media Player easily and it makes it easy to get the album art and track listings. And pictures in my media library are there as well --- then i just plug in the usb of the zen and it syncs them right up. PLAYLISTS and ALBUM ART -- are in there and come across. I was worried this was a feature that only ipod had. This ZEN is awesome and such a low price! Yes the usb cable is very short and I did not like the ear phones --- but this player rocks! plus i was worried that the volume would not go up enough to listen to some music loud and use speakers --- BUT you can easily shut the volume limiting off. So the fears i had about buying one --- have ALL been resolved. This thing has a large screen and is great. It is a good idea to get a screen protecter. and do not buy this from anyone else --- AMAZON is the greatest --- if you have any problems at all --- THEY WILL HELP YOU LIKE NO OTHER!!!! I first saw an ad for the Creative Zen several months before it hit the market and was immediately drawn to its compact stylish look, and the fact that it had 16gb of flash memory. I pre-ordered about 2 months before it came out and now I finally have it. Let me just say that it was well worth the wait. In my opinion, this is what an MP3 player should be. It is very user-friendly as well as intuitive. It is actually smaller than what I had anticipated, which is a big plus. I had been following the reviews for this up until I got mine, and I think that the firmware update has solved any issues that others were dealing with.

CONS:
I haven't tried the SD card feature yet, but for me, having it separate will only pose a minor annoyance.
