For the price, you cannot beat the quality of sound this card produces, even with your standard computer speakers. Installation was a breeze and there is an automatic update service that keeps drivers and programs current.
You cannot go wrong with a Creative product! Even if you don't want to spend the extra money, it is well worth it to upgrade your standard sound card to even the lowest price Creative card!

I mainly purchased this card to provide 3D sound support for non openAL games under Windows Vista. I was not disappointed! Some games required some manual configuration but this was well documented on the Creative AlChemy website. I was especially pleased with the headphone 3d sound. The driver automatically switches to headphone mode when they are plugged in - Very useful for an early morning gamer.Customer Review: Plug & Play

I bought this card to free up my CPU from the integrated sound. I am running XP and all I needed to do was diable my integrated sound card in BIOS, plug in card and install drivers. The card is great and does exactly what the manufacturer states. Shipping from Amazon was awesome. It arrived in the promised time, even during the holiday rush period. For such a reasonable price, and ease of installation (to Vista-32, no less), this sound card is sensational. This is the best ROI I have ever experienced in a hardware product. Intuitive directions and the software installation wizard made the entire process clock in at about 30 minutes.
The sound improvement from motherboard to 5.1 is absolutely astounding!

I had to buy the PCI version because my pc had no free pci express slots, but seeing as how this is just a sound card, that should really make no difference. This card has the reliability I've come to expect from Creative. Audio quality is superb, EAX enabled in hardware. I've never experienced any issues with the card in the year I've owned it.
