I bought these speakers to replace a pair of gateway USB speakers that came with my gm5442 witch was a mistake to buy I just replace it with a custom build and I have a DG43Gt motherboard and plugged these speakers in and it sounded great and the motherboard sound is better than my creative 24 bit live sound card that I bought the only thing is that the speakers have no bass control but still sounds good and yes for those giving it bad reviews you are wrong sure there are limitations but don't expect to get good sound quality out of any speaker if you bloody put the sound to max volume including your cars sound systems have limitations come on rate these with decent sound and not max sound.Customer Review: Real sound

These speakers were really just a whim, plus I needed to add a few bucks for free shipping with another item from Amazon - in Hawaii we love Amazon's free shipping! They had to fit in my desk cubbyholes. The originals I was using were really tinny, but as I only use sound for internet stuff and occasional CD music I don't care much. If I want to seriously listen to music or see a film I have a decent home theater system. There is some justification to the complains of too much bass (and no balance controls) which I solved by stuffing the tube in the subwoofer with part of a duster pad (cut to size). For the price and size I'm happy as a pig in slop with these.
