Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative EP-640 In-Ear HeadphonesCustomer Review: Pretty good, not the best Summary: 4 Stars
After using these Creative earbuds for two weeks, I can safely say that my jbuds (which sadly broke after a year) were definitely better. I have ordered another pair, but these will do fine while I eagerly await their arrival.
Customer Review: Perfect price-quality relation Summary: 4 Stars
For the price you pay they deliver a crisp sound with good bass and perfect response in the full spectrum, they are even better than the apple ones that i received with my ipod, and the isolation is fantastic.
Customer Review: Hard to say when they broke after two weeks... Summary: 3 Stars
Alright, so FIRST OFF, let me just say, the whole reason I bought this the 640s instead of the 630s (and this is shallow, I know), is because it showed that they were white. I figured, okay, I can pitch in five or ten extra bucks to get ones that match my iPod, because I'm seriously anal about things matching like that. Guess what? I got them in the mail, and they were black. Way to misrepresent the product Amazon.
Nonetheless, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning them and waiting, etc., so I kept them. And the sound was, indeed, quite good. As some have mentioned, the bass is very nice. I also felt that the ear pieces fit very snugly into my ears and didn't fall out at all or make annoying noises like some ill-fitting buds do when jogging or using the elliptical. So, in other words, despite being misled on color, I really enjoyed these for two weeks.
But then the left bud shorted out, and, stupid me, the receipt got thrown away with the shipping materials. That's a lot of money down the drain for me to readily pick up a replacement of these hoping it was just a bad pair and that another pair won't do that. This is why it's hard for me to give it anything more or less than a three because though I would give it a two or one for shorting out after two weeks and because they weren't the product represented in the picture, the sound was indeed nice and they fit well and all that jazz, but I can't let the bad things go unnoticed.
I'll say this: go for the 630s. Everyone seems to think they sound the same, they're cheaper, and they look the exact same as what you'll get when you order this. The only difference I believe is that these have a pouch that comes with them. JUST MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR RECEIPT lest you encounter the terrible luck I did. :(
Customer Review: Great for small ears ... Summary: 3 Stars
My original iPod earbuds were killing my ears because they were just way too big. I was looking for a set that was small enough for me to wear comfortably and these fit the bill perfectly. They came with 3 different sizes of soft rubber ear fittings (not sure what they're really called) which was great. As for the sound ... I'm not blown away by it. Even after going through the EQ on the iPod I never got them to sound as good as the Apple ones. I'm satisfied though, because they really do fit well and they really do block out most of the ambient sound. I WAS blown away that I received these in the mail the day after I ordered them.
Customer Review: Anybody hear a buzz?? Summary: 3 Stars
I know I'm probably supposed to burn them in first, but I got these at work so i don't have a iPod handy. However, I plugged them in my laptop, and I get this buzzy hiss. Fired up iTunes and when the music's playing, it sounds fine, but when idle, the noise is kinda annoying.
I got these to replace my busted Shure e2cs. The shures did a better job of sealing out ambient noise and felt more robust than the flimsier Creative cord. However, the creatives provide much more bass.
I'll update in a week or so...
